Many envision their dream home, but know not the road that leads there. Perhaps a remodel is all that is required; a new kitchen layout, a bathroom with extra amenities, a family room, or a new patio design. Others may wish to remodel or upgrade their business structure, visualizing transformational qualities that will welcome customers with the impact of a warm embrace. Such investments can be the difference between surviving... and thriving. While contemplating such endeavors can be intimidating, never fear: we can help. At Cutting Edge Construction Today, LLC (CEC), we possess the ability, willingness and desire to truly listen to your aspirations. With a creative eye and imaginative spirit, one begins to see that virtually anything is possible. Thus, the first step toward transferring your dreams into reality begins. Your perception of a construction company or home builders will forever change with us; we know that for you, it's not simply a house- it's your home. Taking that extra step, and making that extra effort is an integral part of our approach: you can count on us to be there for you. Our founder Doug Terrel has lived by this credo over his several decades of experience, and has instilled it within everything we do. And- while the latest trend among companies is to "go green" in promoting sustainable development, we have been environmentally friendly from day one. We firmly believe that making a better tomorrow starts with responsible and conscientious practices today.

We hired Doug to replace the posts on our carport. We found him to be responsive and the work was excellent. We plan on reaching out to him again for larger jobs.

We hired Doug (owner of Cutting Edge Construction Today LLC) to complete 2nd floor addition. This ended up being a year-long project with and there were some pros and cons we would like to share. The pros: 1) Doug is an overall nice guy. Easy to talk to and seems like he wanted things to go well. 2) He had some good ideas on working through some of the issues that arose during the remodel (working with an old home) 3) Shared ideas on certain finishes that did help make the inside work/look better. The cons: 1) Time/Schedule: Started 3 months late and gave us the runaround during that time about starting soon. Then it took 6 months longer then when he bid the project. Overall work was done slowly and never met the schedules Doug told us during our check-in conversations. 2) Communication: Doug was good at communication when he wanted something, but he avoids emails, texts, and phone calls when it is not something he wants to deal with. Many times I had to follow up with him on non-responses throughout the whole project (especially cost) 3) Budget: Blew up the budget! 40% over the high end of his proposed Budget is what we ended up paying, but he wanted to bill for well over 50%. There were some unseen issues that came up but that would have only accounted for 10-15% of the increase. The only way I got updates on Budgets was to push Doug over and over again to get me the information (which in the end was always wrong). This was overall under estimated and VERY VERY poorly managed. 4) Oversight: Rarely on-site final 4 months. After budget issues were discussed Doug did not spend much time at our house and never was there to talk to us when we got home. He also was not making sure the work was being done well. I was constantly finding things that were being done incorrectly and having to point it out to him and his guys. 5) Finish work: Some was good, but also some was bad. Lots to be improved on here especially in tile work. I had to have to have them pull up the newly laid bathroom tile floor since it moved up and down. Then the replacement job is still bad; it does not move now, but it is not level thus leaving sharp edges (and grout work was poor). Overall I have not recommended to any of my friends and neighbors to use Cutting Edge Construction Today LLC and I would not use them again for any project. Hopefully the remodel is sound and I will not need to make any warranty claims against the performed work.
