I found Rock on porch.com, and just finished our first project with him last week-tearing out an old double door garage entry and refitting it with one large door and a person door. It required tearing out and disposing of existing construction, putting in a giant new header and new framing for both doors, doing electrical work, siding and trim, concrete patching, as well as subcontracting the actual door installation. We are so happy with the work, the price, the efficiency, and the manners of Rock and his team! We have dealt with five different general contractors in the last five years as we slowly redo our 1960s era ranch home, and I really thought that all contractor experiences would be frustrating. Rock gave us a detailed estimate and contract, did what he said he would do for a reasonable price in a reasonable amount of time, and did it well. I feel like it's a sad statement that this somehow deserves such praise, but it is unfortunately hard to find contractors like him. He also went above and beyond by installing something for us and whipping up a threshold ramp for a wheelchair at the last minute, both without charge. I've already given his contact info to my parents and another friend from church. Very highly recommended!

Rock and the guys that work for him did a great job building our deck and retaining wall. We were very happy and thought the guys to be very professional. They got the job done in a timely manner and responded well to our request. We had them come back and paint and take care of some other projects in the house. We moved out of town and wish we could find someone as great as them in our new town.

Regarding Rock Mills Contracting, Inc., I met Rock Mills in 2001 when I needed a contractor to restore my house that had been described as “Unfit for Human Habitation” by a certified building inspector. I was impressed that the first thing he said he had to do was clean up the place before he could work. Throughout the months of labor, he would leave the work area clean each night. I found that he was perceptive, creative, but also with an eye on the cost when he would suggest a different angle to a problem. I also noticed that he knew highly qualified subcontractors to work in areas he was not licensed to work in. He was meticulous in supervising his crew’s work. He planned his work and would submit an estimate for each project before he would start working on it. He kept to the estimate unless I asked for a change in which case he would submit a change order for my approval. I always felt like we were partners in the restoration and he was able to explain in detail items I was not familiar with. I have relied on Mr. Mills’ expertise on and off ever since 2001. I would highly recommend him to anyone desiring quality repairs as well as additional construction.
