A-1 Home Repair

I hired A1 Home repair to paint my kitchen. Their painter, Ron Barclay came to my home and gave me an estimate. We went over very specific details that needed to be done including sanding/smoothing a wallpaper border to be painted over. We also went over the trimwork to be painted. I was given an estimate by Steve, the owner, and hired them to do the job. I arrived home as Ron and his assistant were finishing up. First of all, I had moved all furniture except for my kitchen table out of the area, thinking that they would cover it. They did not. There were paint specks all over it. I did ask Ron to clean it which he did. There were also paint droplets all over the floor. They did not use any dropcloths, did not cover anything and didn't use tape. They did not sand/smooth the wallpaper border, just painted over it. The edges of the border can be seen through the paint. It does not look good, also there are spots where it bubbled. Finally, instead of bringing in a ladder or stepstool, they STOOD with their wet BOOTS on my white KITCHEN COUNTERS!!! They stood on my counters!!! There were boot marks all over my counters where I prepare food. I called Steve and told him of my experience. He assured me that he would make it right. In the meantime, I canceled the check that I had written to Ron as after speaking with my husband, he told me that I should not have paid until they came back. Steve was supposed to get with my husband the following Tuesday and come look at the job. He states that he called my husband and left a voice mail but my husband did not have a message. I do not trust this company. Do not hire them to do your painting job. I was hoping I had found a good trustworthy company as we are planning a lot of home upgrades. I will keep searching.

Set an appointment with A-1 in Little Rock, AR. I took the day off in order to meet Steve and get my repair completed. He did not show at the designated time and called 1 1/2 hours later, after I had called him and he did no answer, He wanted to set another time to come to do my repair. I wasted a whole day of leave and still do not have the work done. I cannot recommend this man.
