Bought a new Amana refrigerator at Menards in Sandusky, Ohio in August, 2019. It quit cooling on or about Friday, May 8, 2020. Talked to Amana service rep on Monday, May 11 and they set me up with Lewis Appliance Service in Mansfield, Ohio (about an hour away from me), the only service option I was given since the refrig is still under the first year warranty. It is 4 weeks later today and I still have a broken refrigerator. It just needs the thermostat replaced, but I have had to call Lewis Appliance several times to try to get them to fix this thing and they keep saying they are waiting for the part. (My Appliance Service guy in Sandusky said that this thermostat is a standard part and he could get it in a day or 2). Also, I try to get help from Amana and Whirlpool but they’re little use. They send me an email or two saying that they’re so sorry for the problems and that I’m so important to them and wait while they contact the appropriate department - blah blah blah. They have a huge share of the appliance market so I’m nobody to them, especially since they already have my money. IT’S 4 WEEKS LATER AND THEY HAVEN’T REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT!!!!! Beware Whirlpool and Lewis Appliance - read their reviews. I see that I’m not alone.

Paid my $96 and got stiffed by them. They claimed it would cover parts replacement labor only when they determined the problem. Tech was not able to hear the grinding noise from my 3.5 year old Maytag washer when he visited for 18 minutes. He asked me to record it and send him the file. I did and sound lasted for 3-5 seconds and was loud as hell. Took them two weeks to open the file and another 3 days to call me back. Of which they said the noise cannot be determined and I need to just wait for it to die and buy a new washer. These people have no idea how to run a business. When I take a car in to be serviced at Firestone, they never tell me they can’t fix it. This people are incapable. I must have made at least 10 phones between them and Maytag and neither can help. Both suck equally. Not to mention the ladies answering the phone are rude. Maytag is owned by Whirlpool.
