Castle in Farragut

Sep 2014

A 17,000 sq. ft. large family estate. We built a massive custom hickory curved staircase for the entrance. It was built entirely in our shop, transported and installed. Originally the contractor planned to build a short wall against the exterior wall of the stair. The owner didn't like it, so the built a closet under it. No, they didn't like that.. so we were asked to come back in and engineer the stair to be to a totally free-standing curve, which we did. It has been inspected and approved by a structural engineer. When completed it will have a custom iron rail and newels. We also built enormous curved hickory landings, and straight hickory stairs for the rear of the house. It will be stunning!

Schwab English Estate

A truly circular maple stair with balcony for a beautiful country estate overlooking the Little River with views of the Great Smoky Mountains in Maryville, Tn. This stair was designed to complement a home with an eclectic mix of antiques handed down through generations on a family farm, with upscale construction and custom amenities. By Bystry Construction and Development. A lovely stair!

White Farm

Aug 2011

This beautiful cherry staircase and library wall is a rebuild in a historic country farmhouse. We completely removed the existing stair, and built the new stair on-site. The design challenge was to create a stair that seamlessly fit into a house filled with antiques, art, and musical instruments. This stair boasts many custom designed and hand - crafted elements, including the baluster boots and newel posts. The family is very thrilled with the results, and we have been invited back for several other design/build projects, including a custom door and lattice for the house exterior, a garden arbor and newly completed garden shed. The garden shed includes many salvaged architectural elements in the design, something we enjoy. The exterior and garden projects are a design collaboration with the owner, something else we enjoy! We will soon be designing a dock and boat house for the garden pond near the bridge. A satisfied repeat customer!
