Berry Good Heating-Air-Plumbing

This company is a scam. The technician came to check our unit and determined it was in need of freon. He claimed our unit required 6lbs of freon and would cost $100 per pound. Considering we've had this service in the past with a different provider and only paid a third of fourth of that amount as discovered when I went back inside of my home to pull the prior receipt. I immediately went back to question the technician about the amount claimed and told him that I needed him to show me how he determined that amount. He became offensive and could not provide any proof from his readings etc. He then looked behind my unit and stated again that it held 6lbs. I informed the technician that I could not in good faith pay the amount he suggested and informed him that I would cover his assessment fee and he could be on his way. I returned back inside and my husband met the tech outside for payment. Instead of the $100 assessment fee, the tech fraudulently charged my husband $600! When I realized this, I immediately reached out and to the technician. He initially hung up the phone in my face. I texted him and informed him that I would be filing a claim with my bank and would also be sure to notify other potential customers of his fraudulent practices. I informed him that I would have a different company come out to prove that his claims were indeed erroneous. The technician then told me he would refund us but would need to return to our home to remove the freon he claims he refilled. At that time, I told him that he could not be trusted and would not be allowed back on our property to remove anything that he couldnt prove was provided. The following day, we had a different company come out and he stated our unit was a 4lb unit and confirmed there was no way possible it would hold 6lb as stated and charged by Berry Good. The new technician provided us with a receipt stating this and also informed us that we were severely over-charged for the freon..to the tune of over $60 per pound! We have filed a claim with our bank and if unsuccessful we will file a small claims with the court. I refuse to allow this technician to continue to get away with fraud. Who knows how many other home owners this has happened to unbeknownst to them. It is my goal to ensure that this does not happen again to others.
