Oscar's Pool Service

This review is a follow-up to my earlier review this morning. On August 21, 2020 at 2:50 p.m., Oscar from Oscar's Pool Service called from 313-728-0374 to my mobile phone. Oscar said, "Oh, I see what you are trying to do. You are going online and trying to ruin my business." I said, "I left reviews for your company's work this morning that was done next to my house. Every word that I said in those reviews is true, and I stand by those reviews. I think it is important for potential customers to know what they are getting into regarding the behavior of people that work at your company and their lack of consideration for those in the neighborhood where the work is being done." Oscar said, "You will hear from my lawyer. I will take you to court for defaming my company." I said, "Every word in my reviews of your company is true, and I stand by those reviews. Today, at 1:45 p.m., I went to the Farmington Hills Police Department," which is located at 31655 W Eleven Mile Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48336. In the main lobby of this police department, I spoke with a police officer. I explained to the police officer the situation that happened this morning with the cement mixer producing very loud noise at 7:30 a.m. about 25 feet from my bedroom window. I told the police officer that I asked the operator of the cement mixer to either stop the noise from the mixer till 9:00 a.m. or to move the truck holding the cement mixer back out to the road and farther away from my bedroom window. The operator of the cement mixer refused to do either request, and he continued to operate the cement mixer. The police officer asked me if the work crew [for Oscar's Pool Service] was still at my neighbor's house. I said that the work crew had left about 11:00 a.m. I told Oscar that the police officer said to me, "You should have called us [the Farmington Hills Police] to come out when they [the work crew of Oscar's Pool Service] were at your neighbor's house. They are allowed to start work at 7:00 a.m., but noise should be a consideration. If they were making too much noise or they could have reduced the noise by moving the mixing machine to the road, then we could have issued them a citation for a noise disturbance." Oscar became very angry at me and said, "We could not move the mixer to the road because we only had three hoses, and they would not have reached" [to the pool]. Then, Oscar launched into a tirade. Oscar yelled, "I don't care if what you said is true, you are ruining my business." Oscar yelled at me four times that I was an "a**hole" and that I was a "f*cking racist." I said to Oscar, "I do not want to listen to you swearing at me. I am going to hang up now." After this telephone call, I was shaking with fear. I felt threaten by Oscar, both by his threat to have his lawyer take me to court for my truthful reviews of his company and by the feeling that Oscar might somehow seek me out in person to do me bodily harm.

The response from Oscar's Pool Service was quick and very professional. We scheduled the time for pool closing and they were very prompt and efficient. As we were looking for more than a company that closes and opens pools we will definitely contact for service and repairs on our pool.
