Perry Laney Septic Services provided us with extremely inferior service verified by another company and has refused to provide a refund. On May 29th 2016 we contacted Perry Laney Septic Services of Monroe, NC for the first time. Our septic alarm was going off. Perry Laney, owner, sent his brother Danny Laney, out to our home the next day to help us with our repair. Danny replaced our septic pump and some PVC piping from the pump to the drain line. We paid them $1200 cash and received a receipt from them with an 18 month warranty for the pump (hand written). A week to two weeks later a pipe burst in our tank from the pressure of the new pump. Perry Laney was called multiple times but did not answer his phone and his voicemail box was full. So we called Danny Laney, employee and brother of Perry Laney. Danny came out that day but was unable to finish the repair. He came the next day and repaired the burst pipe (we paid him $250 cash) and he provided us with a one year warranty on that fix. At the time, however, the floats were not working properly and the alarm still went off when the system was turned back on. He was unable to fix the floats that day and said he would be back the next day to do so. He did not come the next day or for several days after that, even after multiple calls to both himself and Perry Laney. After several days someone did come back out and fix the floats but no one called or left us a receipt as requested so we are unsure of whether this was Danny or Perry. At this time Perry and Danny both stated the reason it took them several days to fix the floats was because Perry's Girlfriend's Mother had passed away. On July 9th the pipe burst in our septic tank again. BBB Accredited business South End Plumbing is who we called out to make the repair. On the receipt that South End Plumbing provided for us they also did a write up of exactly what they found in our tank. In short they stated it was an unprofessional, sloppy, careless job that was done. We paid them $750 for this repair. We called Perry Laney on July 19th to ask that he reimburse us for the $750 we spent to fix his company's mistakes. At this time he mentioned that the previous death he was dealing with was his wife (his story has continued to change). Perry agreed to pay us $500 of the $750 in two installments. $200 to be paid on Saturday July 23 and $300 to be paid on Saturday July 30th. Perry advised us to type up a contract stating these terms for us all to sign and that is what we did. Perry also advised on this call that he was sorry for what happened and he had fired Danny due to several other jobs that Danny had botched. When Perry was called on Thursday July 21st to confirm the meeting for July 23rd he proceeded to state that when Danny, his employee and brother, came out to do the second repair on the burst pipe ($250) that Danny was operating on his own accord under his own company, and that Perry Laney did not have anything to do with that. He said he would pay us $250 and that was it. He is claiming his brother was not working for him when be came back out to repair the pipe even though Perry is who sent Danny out to us originally and anytime we could get Perry on the phone Danny was with him and they were working together. Danny's receipt that he provided us for both jobs stated PERRY LANEY SEPTIC SERVICES at the top of it. Perry nor Danny ever informed us of the fact that Danny was not working under the auspice of Perry Laney Septic Services. In fact everything that was ever stated over the phone or in person just confirmed that Danny was in fact an employee of Perry.
