*Their original system: They had a 2.5 ton 10 seer Trane a/c and a horizontal Trane furnace and coil in the attic 15 yrs old. Complaints: High Electrical bills (300+ in summer) and is around a 1400 sq ft home, lack of comfort, Uneven airflow in the rooms, Smells when the system is running. And one room that the airflow has never been good, actually barely came out. *What the homeowner thought they need: To install a larger system to fix their issues, very common idea. Even the majority of HVAC companies will do this even the big named and so called highly trained companies on the front pages. Installing a bigger system was not at all the issue and would not have solved anything but created more issues. Size matters, remember your a/c is a dehumidifier you are trying to remove humidity not temperature. Going to big in size will pull down the temperature but not be able to remove the Humidity properly in the home. *After looking at their home and talking and gathering information. Here was the root issues that caused problems in the home. The Ductwork design was wrong, returns were very much undersized (extremely common!) they had what is known as a high velocity system that was not within manufacturer's specs. for proper operation. The supply ducts connected to the plenum were not properly attached to allow for proper distribution of air to go to the rooms. The ductwork was ran very loose and not pulled tight. The attic was not properly vented although there are soffit vents. There was not adequate venting installed on the top of the roof. Rather there was nothing at all. Resolution: Installed a complete Bryant 80% Gas Furnace and 2.5 ton 15 seer A/c system. Replaced the supply plenum to allow for proper distribution of air flow. Also had growth growing in the supply plenum that caused smells in the home. This was only found during the removal of the equipment. No one could've seen this on an estimate this was out of sight. Pulled all the ducts tight and removed slack when connecting to the new plenum. Corrected a bedroom duct issue (enlarged the run), homeowners sense home was built never had adequate airflow to this room. Cut in a new return to ensure proper airflow be delivered to the system to condition the home more adequately causing more comfort in the home. This also will lower the electrical usage at the same time cutting cost in the monthly bills. Added a Solar attic fan for better ventilation in the attic. Installed a high Efficiency low static pressure drop electronic filter that is 95% eff. down to 350 microns. Also paired it with a double bulb system called the OxyQuantum Led. This UV light will allow for cleaner air in the home. Keeps growth from growing inside the HVAC system also can kill pathogens in the air. After Installation was completed the family has never know comfort compared to what they had before. They are excited and have nothing but great things to say about their investment! Oklahoma's Best heating and air is your solution for ultimate comfort and finding the right system for you and a solution to the problem!
