Day Worker Center of Mountain View

The mission of the Day Worker Center of Mountain View is to connect workers and employers in a safe and supportive environment; empower workers to improve their socio-economic condition through fair employment, education, and job skills training; and participate in advocacy efforts that support the day laborer community. Workers can be hired for jobs that include gardening, construction, painting, moving, landscaping, and janitorial services, as well as house cleaning, child care, and elder care. The registration process ensures that employers find workers with the most suitable skills for the job, and our bilingual staff facilities communications between employers and workers. In addition, we follow up with employers who have hired with us to see how everything went and if we can improve our services. The minimum rate is $12 per hour, $15 per hour for skilled or heavy jobs such as digging and hauling. Jobs that require an estimate are also available.
