Landscaping Company - Mountlake Terrace, WA
Oliana Gardening is a small, affordable Snohomish, Island and King County gardening service. We specialize in mostly native plants, use chemical free practices and work closely with our clients to establish a long-term relationship that allows us to design and maintain healthy beautiful gardens since 2009. We consider gardening to be a long-term project, wether it be an on-going job for gardening professionals like ourselves, or whether it is maintained by the client. Therefore we create gardens that will not only look beautiful when first created, but will also improve over time. We also think that clients should be involved as much as possible, and enjoy teaching those who are interested, the art of maintaining a beautiful garden and why it is important to add a little bit of green to our urban setting. We follow these simple principles by removing the entire root when we weed, prune in order to improve the health and aesthetics of each shrub and tree, mulch for weeds and to save you water and labor, and consciously choose non-invasive, low-maintenance plants that are suited for every individual location. And finally, as a company whose vision is to create and maintain gardens that connect people with nature, we believe that part of our responsibility is to help educate our clients and the public about sustainable and ethical gardening practices. Services: We provide a free estimate for: Native plant and non-invasive ornamental garden design, garden installation, removal of invasive species, weed control, pruning, mulching and garden coaching.

Whidbey Native Garden | Mar 2013 | This is a native woodland garden planted in 2012. About 90% of the plants are native to the NW. The riverbed leads into a rain garden that catches all of the roof runoff from the nearby house through a PVC pipe buried under the rocks. This garden is planted on top of a septic tank, so we constructed lightweight rocks to cover the two lids. In a few years they will be covered in moss. | Langley, WA
Potager Garden | Jan 2013 | This garden is modeled after the French style Potager garden. It contains eight unique rusted steel beds fabricated by Oliana Gardening that are filled with herbs, fruit-bearing shrubs and trees including fig, olives and columnar apple trees, currants and gooseberries. The larger beds are bordered with Tuecrium chamaedrys, which is a great evergreen, drought tolerant, and small hedging plant. These beds will be used for vegetables. | Seattle, WA
Perry Project | Feb 2012 | This garden is located in a very hot, sunny, front patio. The beds are styled after a cottage garden. Plant selection includes monkshood, delphinium, mullen, foxglove, alliums, campanulas, thrift, black eyed susans, stewartia, penstemon herbacsous peonies and tree peonies. There is also winter and early spring interest in this garden with a witch hazel, contorted quince, red flowering currant, anemones, crocuses, tulips, and cyclamen. | Mountlake Terrace, WA |
