Parker Tree Service

I needed a tree removed. Called Parker and a guy named Vernon comes out. Nice guy, talked a lot about how good they are and how they want customers for life. Sounded good since I have 11 fully grown trees on my property. The tree needing removal had a concrete tree ring to be removed as well. Guy said they would remove tree ring and haul it off for an additional $50. Remove tree, grind stump and all for $950. Fair deal, shook on it. No other phone calls from the company. Couple days later they just show up to start work. No phone calls that they were on the way. Generally no big deal except that my wife works from home and has conference calls all day. Tree is right outside her office window. She had to take time off due to unexpected arrival of Parker. Guys did a good job cutting down tree. Started grinding stump and it was discovered that there was an inner tree ring that the stump had grown around. News to me since trees and rings were in place when I purchased home. All work stopped due to this ring. Guys cleaned up but put the grind shavings in all of my flower beds and planters as if it were mulch. Within two weeks all of my plants were dead. Thanks Parker. Anyway, Vernon came out next day to inspect the second tree ring. He advised that the ring would need removed to continue grind. I said I would do removal but did not have tools to do it. He said he would come back with a concrete saw and cut ring into sections. I said cool, if they did that I would remove the sections. I advised that I understood if extra charges were going to be assessed. He said, "no no. We will not charge. We want your business. You did not know it was there nor did we. We will make it right. Just cut me a check for $900 today and we will come back to finish the grind." Normally I would never ever do this but I cut a check. I figured hey, they are a reputable company that has been around forever. Man was I wrong. Vernon never came back and never called. I talked to him twice and he said the concrete saw was broken. Waited three days and tried back and was told he had to pick it up from the shop. Finally after three call to Vernon and just the run around, I called the Parker office. Got the owner, he said he would get with Vernon and they would resolve issue. I waited a couple days and no phone calls. Never has Parker called me, I have always had to call. Anyway, owner answers phone and tells me that they have bigger more important jobs than my little tree ring and that my phoning them and bugging them will not get my ring done. Whoa whoa whoa! I already paid for the services that you have yet to complete and you guys cashed the check. He says, "will get around to it and quit calling." I advise that I paid for a stump grind that is not complete. I asked that if I took care of ring, will they come out and finish what I paid for. He said, "buddy, we will come out the next day." At this point I have lost all faith in this company. Especially after how the owner talked to me on the phone. Two weeks passed since tree removal started. I phoned 5 times to get resolution and never a call back, just a we will call you every time. I don't think this is excessive since my check had already been cashed. I rented equipment from Depot and took out ring myself. I called Golden Tree and explained what happened to them. They said they would be more than happy to help. Came out next day and ground stump. They are now my tree care experts. I filed a complaint with be BBB against Parker for a $250 credit for equipment rental and cost of stump removal by Golden Tree. Parker never replied nor settled. I guess their sterling reputation does not matter nor does good customer service. Thanks Parker! FYI, I never included all of the landscaping that they killed or destroyed
