Tribeca - Design Synergy

The project represented 7,000 sq.ft. of raw real estate in a landmark Tribeca building. The challenge was to work only with dark brown and cream palette, client's request, which was not a problem of course. The duplex apartment is located on the top 2 floors of the building and has a magnificent rooftop terrace. The home ended up a blend of classic and modern - a calculated, balanced synergy of shapes, color, material and light.

Paris Meets Pure

From the 67 Floor of these twin towers there is a Google Earth view of Manhattan, from one end to another. This 2,300 sq. ft. pied-a-terre is designed to emote absolute calm , which the client was drawn to in Jennifer's designs. The first, and worst, architectural sin of this newly constructed space was that the views of Central Park were obliterated by a wall upon entering. The entire apartment was reconfigured, allowing the rooms to unfold, one into another. When work was completed, all rooms shared a panoramic view of the park. Now it all made architectural sense.

Defining Tudor

The clients wanted a pristine, tailored look for their home. The house was designed to welcome you in with a gracious foyer that leads to the formal living room to the left and dining room to the right. A lounge, where family watches tv, sits at the very end of teh home off the living room. The public rooms, are all about being seductive, which was accomplished by using black and smoky gray palette with silks and cashmere fabrics. The only curves that catch the eye are the rounded arches between rooms and the overscale art. The original architecture of the building was respected by keeping the leaded-glass windows, which provide an elegant framing to the views. The square-on-square panes are in visual harmony with the 90 degree angles of the contemporary furnishings.

Lincoln Center In Black

The clients wanted their existing duplex pied-a-terre next to the Lincoln Center to reflect their lifestyle and love of arts that is right around the corner. The lower floors was designed to function for both formal and family style parties and to allow the clients to host cocktail parties before heading to the opera, while mantaining the privacy on the upper floors with the spacious master bedroom suite and home study/office. The black color palette reflects the client's sophisticated tastes and pays homage to the formal attire required to attend the opera.

Casual Mountain Elegance

The house was built on top of Aspen mountaintop and serves as a vacation home for a busy family. The design inside is reflective of the unique architecture of the house with priority given to honor the grand views of blue sky and woods surrounding the property. It is a modern versionof 'post and beam'. Mahogany floors, stone fireplaces and subdued earth tones all dovetail with the natural landscape. The layout was intended to distinguish the public rooms with furniture placement ratehr than walls, encouraging the family to gather together. The kitchen is open to the living room, dining room, and children's lounge.

Upper East Side Townhouse - Spa Culture

Concept design for Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club Decorator's Show House. The color palette was simple and clasic, with muted tones, ebony, and white. The space includes coze, comfortable living room, and massage and yoga areas. The terrace is outfitted for outdoor entertaining with views of Park Avenue. The decorations are providing a profound juxtaposition of ultra-contemporarary and tribal cultures within this space.

Totally Tailored

The project began at a raw space on the top floor of a new skyrise in Manhattan. It allowed to create the layout of the space that client wanted with wide, long galleries and open rooms with the views of Central Park. To define spaces instead of walls, architectural elements stand in their place - at entry an 8 ft high oak plinth wall that floats in space, sliding doors separate the living room, dining room and media rooms without compromising on the views and keeping the loft feeling throughout. The client did not want any distractions to stop the eye and let the light in. Furniture and carpets are subtle hues, allowing the art to take center stage for color punctuations.

City Sophisticated

The apartment started at a raw space, which allowed for the layout to be customized to suit the client's wishes to go comfortable and modern, to elevate its basic structure. The space was designed to feel as if it breathes and flows with energy that is unencumbered, views open, light fills the space. The settings are very calm with bright punches of color that are complementary to the surroundings.

Resort Style

The project goal was to take the sprawling, classic, Georgian Tudor home and transform into a modern yet classical home instead - inside and out. The stucco exterior front façade was kept on the front, however, the courtyard, grounds and interior comprise a one-man resort. The client wanted this to feel like all the places he visited in the Caribbean. The floor plan was readjusted on both floors. The 1960s style was guted to make room for a clean, white and elegant aesthetic. New staircase was designed to make it appear as if it floats and follows the gentle curve above the floor. The outdated landscaping was removed to create a dramatic bridge over a water pool, leading to a huge bronze front door. In the back a full outdoor program was designed to complement the interiors with a separate cabana and guest house structures on the property and a new pool with custom fire pits for the evenings on the numerous loggias.
