Josh boasts he does the best epoxy floors and his mission statement says they go the extra mile, use the best materials and take pictures throughout the process to show they didn’t cut corners and they take pride in their work. Not true. My floor was done by Alex, a self-proclaimed perfectionist, but the edge all around the room was dry, even the step and parts of the floor had little or no epoxy. Other areas didn’t have any chips, cement showed (due to excessive scraping 5-6 times collecting loose chips*) and yet other areas had chips sticking up – making it impossible to just wear socks – because it was so rough. When I called Josh he told me he was busy trying to play a game with his son. His wife called me back and told me IF the floor needed more work they’d be out the end of the week to fix it. Told her I was going to cancel my check until it was fixed. I sent pictures and videos of the floor. Alex returned to my house about an hour or two later. He told me the floor looked good to him – didn’t understand what the problem was and asked me what I wanted done. I told him I needed more epoxy put on the top to cover the dry spots, more epoxy on the edges and step and explained some of the problems at the multiple post-it notes I had put on the floor where it needed some attention. At one point, he walked to his truck and it looked like he was going to leave. After he talked on the phone a bit, he came back and said he was going to put more epoxy on it, and fix the areas that needed more chips, etc. He spent 6-7 hours fixing it. Almost as much time as the first visit. Although it’s true – the price is reasonable, *they save lots of money reserving so many chips from each job. Alex told me they have at least 200 buckets (think huge ones from Home DEPOT) just with chips. And Josh guaranteed 5 gallons would be put on as the one top coat layer, but didn’t discuss it with Alex. And because Alex didn’t agree 5 gallons was necessary; as a result…had to come back. Honestly, it would have been better to spend a few more hundred dollars and go with a company that did two coats of epoxy and have it done right the first time. Most disappointing is that neither Josh or his wife have called to apologize, check to see if the floor was okay, if I was pleased with the end result (better than the first, but still flawed in some areas), or call to apologize for the inconvenience. Obviously, they don’t care. Corners were cut with my job and no pictures were taken. Cheaper isn't always better. You DO get what you pay for!
