Mr z’s won’t stand behind his work. There are many areas of paint peeling within 1 year. He won’t look, repair and tells me I have water damage. I don’t have any signs of water damage. Especially in different areas in several rooms. He even refused to do work unless I paid him before start- to fund his cash flow shortage because he has to pay workers cash every day. I had the Will County building inspector look at paint and he found no indication of water damage. He said some trim areas were missed and not primed properly. I gave him over 9,000 and I would sue the company but he is not incorporated. So I am filing a claim against him personally . Sherwin Williams said they guarantee paint won’t peel for 5 years. So it was the application that is the problem I asked him several times and all he did was insinuate I’m an idiot because I obviously can’t see water damage. I think I And Inspector would see signs of any water damage. He just can’t afford to pay a worker to fix He told me he demanded upfront payment because he didn’t have cash needed to pay workers when a job takes more than a week. This is unprofessional and if he did this to me he will do it again It’s also a mistake to do business with someone who is not incorporated because they personally may not have any assets you try to recover for damage. He operates as a sole proprietor, and pays cash wages. So even if he has insurance the insurance company will not pay for work performed by non employees; as evidenced by not paying taxes , workers comp, and liability for damage in your home.

I contracted with this contractor and agreed on a start date, price, and completion date. He started almost 60 days later than agreed, stopped in the middle of the project to do other jobs, and then never finished. My decision to use Mr. Z cost me about $17,000 more than agreed once I paid a real contractor to finish the job that Mr. Z could not.
