HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! PLEASE READ THIS--We just moved into a house that the owners recently had Jonathan Anderson the owner of ACT Heating And Cooling here in Port Saint Lucie Florida install a new 3 Ton A/C System less than 3 years old. (This is still almost new) When we moved into the home we discovered that the relative humidity in the house was running far to high between 60-65 percent which is extremely unhealthy, very uncomfortable and caused mold growth. We called ACT Heating And Cooling because they recently installed this system. Jonathan the owner looked at the system and replaced the evaporator coil that was very dirty and not operating properly, but still under factory warranty. He charged us $522.50 for the labor to install the replacement evaporator coil. We asked him to check the return and supply ductwork because we thought that this could be a contributing factor for the extremely high humidity in the house. He refused to honor our request to check the ductwork for leaks and just before leaving our property he told us if we wanted him to check out the ductwork he would have to come back another day while charging us for another service call. After he left we pulled the wood board covering the lower section of the air return area to discover that the entire section of duct board that is supposed to be connected to the air handler was never connected properly to the air handler. There was a 1-1/2” gap between the air handler and the air return duct board that was supposed to be 100 percent sealed together. This was causing the A/C System to pull a huge amount of hot, filthy air from the garage into the air return side of the system which without question caused the damage to the evaporator coil that we just paid Jonathan $522.50 to replace. This is also the DIRECT reason the relative humidity in the house was running between 60-65 percent which is not healthy, very uncomfortable and was causing mold growth. We called Jonathan Anderson the owner of Act Heating And Cooling and explained the situation to him while also sending him pictures of the improper installation of the air handler to the air return side of the duct board. Since he was the one that did this installation we asked him to come back to re-do the connection of the return duct board to the air handler properly at no charge as he already hit us for the $522.50 charge to replace the evaporator coil that was caused by this negligence in the first place! Jonathan refused to fix this problem caused by his improper installation and he told us that if we wanted him to repair this problem he would charge us the discounted price of $1,200.00 additional dollars! We refused his ridicules ripoff offer and hired another company to do this repair! The company we hired charged us the fair price of $250.00. Now we can finally breathe healthy crisp cool air in our home! Needless to say we will NEVER hire ACT Heating And Cooling Again! Only Hire Companies That Stand By Their Work!

I called ACT for information re: Cell Foam Spray Insulation. I learned so much speaking with Jonathan. He didn't sell me anything but took the time to educate me about a project I thought I needed. I'll be using this company for my HVAC in the future. Thank You Jonathan. Tom Melley
