Great design does not make a home expensive, it just makes for a very interesting and enjoyable place to live. Simply put...whether it is a small bungalow, a lakeside cottage or a large custom, a well designed and beautiful home provides great value on every level. When it comes to additions...we have one rule...the client has to want it to beautifully enhance the original home and not just be a "bad-on." We want the final product to look better than the original. We feel strongly that designing a perfect plan up front is the best money you can possible spend. The overall cost of designing, engineering, permitting and building a great house is a dynamic process that can be controlled with a few specific variables from the beginning. Our experience shows that a well designed plan will actually save money in the long run because of minimal changes and efficient build considerations. We have been involved with the construction side for 30 years and have the added benefit of understanding what will be efficient and a good practical balance in a structure. We love managing the build process on our plans internally when time permits and in our first decade of business we enjoyed building the homes we designed for almost all of our clients. After being involved in many model and Parade of Homes events, it has been very gratifying to experience the accolades of the many attendees and the reward of now having design requests that far exceed our capacity to build. Even though we can now only build a fraction of what we design, working with each client through the creative process gives the same sense of achievement...almost as if we get to be there, in some way, as each home is built. Our design services are not for everyone. There are designers out there who will put together a nice home that will function and adequately meet most of your needs. If you want a standard home that will look good, we are probably not your best fit. If you want a fabulous home that exceeds your expectations on every level, is perfectly suited for your needs, and is a pleasure to drive up to every day...we would love to visit with you. After we spend some time understanding your needs, we can send you a portfolio of similar projects for your review. There may be a plan we have designed previously that largely suits your requirements. In that case, we may be able to save a lot of time and money by customizing the existing plan. Every project gives us the same surge of enthusiasm because we have the privilege of artfully designing the gathering place that will captivate the experiences and dreams of a lifetime.
