Rafael did a basement remodel for us and we are happy with the work.

We were very disappointed. If I wasn't there to point out that he was repeatedly putting the same pattern down side to side, the entire house floor would have been done that way. He acted like I was nuts for pointing out that only different boards should be next to each other. He left major gaps under wall and door moldings, and now we have an ant problem. There are also a few boards that were clearly put in incorrectly (buckling up etc). For paint job, his crew repeatedly tried to cut corners by not removing outlet/switch, ceiling light plates etc. Numerous spots had to be redone (by me!). They left inside-doors outside, unprotected in the rain, during the weekend. He had promised to return two weeks later to fix these issues (floor holes, bad paint spots), even asking us to put masking tape to signal everything. He never showed up, never answered calls, never explained himself. He only cashed the last check and disappeared. He was supposed to do other remodeling work, but apparently decided he would rather do jobs for people who like shoddy, quick work. He just backed out like an immature teenager who couldn't own his own mistakes. We were very understanding as he constantly was VERY behind schedule, but he abused our understanding as he just vanished into thin air as soon as he got his last check. Do not recommend.
