We're a throwback to when Union sheet metal workers were trained to lay out & do anything including installations of furnaces, air-conditioning , & ventilation. All in one shop. Load analysis & mechanical design has become practically normal for mechanics now with cybernetics & cell phones. Very extensive mechanical problems are still given to M.E. graduates.
