JMF Landscaping LLC

I went out to meet an artist at an open house at the homesite of JMF Landscaping LLC. That is how I met this landscaper whom we found had boulders on site that we were interested in. We decided to have him come out and bid a large meditation/firepit area for us that we had to date some difficulty finding a contractor to complete. The work required heavy equipment and expertise working with the largest Rosetta Stone outcropping and boulders to be placed to our specs. Jason came out promptly and gave us a ball park idea of the cost as I requested and I told him when we got the final written bid I would be out to give him a deposit for materials. I knew they were already busy and wasn't surprised that I needed to call to get the followup written bid but once I called it was in my email within a day. The bid was detailed and I was well aware that ordered materials are not refundable. I went out the next day and covered the full amount of materials in a deposit and set a date for installation. That date was delayed as I expected by heavy rains. You just can't get exterior work done when the ground won't support machinery or installation. It just becomes a mud field and dangerous as well. The installation was only delayed days and when Jason and his crew arrived they were efficient and moved to expedite the job before the next round of storms moved in on us. The outcome is exceptional and because of that we have arranged to have him bid another large stonework job on our property and will be asking him to bid out the planting of large trees that we will be getting. Other than having to make one phone call I really have nothing negative to say about JMF Landscaping LLC. All the staff and Jason himself were polite, efficient, timely given the weather, and the price very reasonable. I have dealt with contractors who did poor jobs or tried to pad bids but this contractor is not one of those. He is honest, polite, hardworking, conscientious in the work he and his team do. What more could you want from a contractor?

No show, no call three times. When I asked for a refund he refused to give me all of my deposit back. This was my response to his well-worded reply: "I ask for my money back because you provide a poor service and I am then penalized?? The fact that you are untrustworthy and unreliable is not something that I am going to be responsible for. You called one time and I called you back with no answer on your part. For all I know you were calling to say "Hey, see you first thing Monday morning." You could have had your staff call Monday and explain. I had to call and hunt someone down each time. This has nothing to do with the delays because of weather. I am totally ok with that. It has everything to do with the fact that you never show up or call to say you are not coming. Who wouldn't ask for their money back??? As for the product, it IS your most popular one you said so I am sure that you will use it fine. You lied to your secretary and told her we discussed the amount on the phone which is entirely not true. The discussion was that you did not want to do the refund on the card because you would be penalized. You wanted to write a check which I said was fine with me. At no time did you ever tell me that I was not going to get my refund in full. But hey, you made a great reply. However, you are the one who has to live with yourself. All this because you thought you could scam a single mom. Pathetic" This man is unreliable and untrustworthy.
