Green Building Service - Salisbury, MD
FLC, (or Free Lighting Corporation as it was then called) was founded in New Jersey at the beginning of 1991 to perform work on one of the first utility based "Demand Side Management" programs in the United States. After working in and completing many programs throughout New Jersey, FLC moved its operations to Houston, Texas in 2002. At that time in Texas, utility based programs were just getting off the ground. With FLC's many years of experience, hard work and determination, and of course, the best crews in the business, we very quickly became one of the top performing contractors in the business. FLC was offered a contract in New York City. Again, as a contractor for a utility, FLC worked in over 17,000 homes on Staten Island and reduced the boroughs electric usage by more than 20 megawatts in a period of 5 years. In 2013 when the program really started to take off, Chuck Weitzel, along with Ramiro Gutierrez, who has been with FLC since its move to Texas, both moved to Salisbury to start work as a Delmarva Power contractor. FLC is more than happy to be back on the shore, working for the people, and in the area which we know best.
