RUN AWAY fast and far. If I could give a negative score I would! First let me say, I was a tenant in one of the Loft properties managed by Blakemore Properties. There is a reason why only positive reviews are from Property Owners. Blakemore Properties treats tenants poorly and there behavior borders on extortion in it's tenant management. Here are some examples: As part of the lease agreement, the loft came with Washer/Dryer, microwave, refrigerator, oven, stove, ac/furnace and unfurnished. The Dryer was malfunctioning the day I moved in, and I was told I was responsible for fixing/replacing it because it is considered a convenience appliance. Shortly after that, the microwave stopped working....again, a convenience item I was responsible for fixing/replacing, but I was not allowed to take the unit with me even if I replaced it. When I probed further about how things would be handled if the refrigerator should stop working, I was told I was responsible for fixing/replacing.....and again, I could not take the appliance with me even if I had purchased it new. Example #2: The lease specifically had a clause outlining termination of the lease early. In the clause it stated there would be a $250 termination/change fee. When I submitted my request to terminate the lease, Blakemore said I would loose 50% of my deposit of $1500 and was responsible for advertising and showing the unit. Example #3: I was able to find a new tenant to replace me, and had the unit professionally cleaned and any sheetrock nail holes repaired as well. Special note, the earthquake of 2020 created some cracks in one of the walls of the unit which I did not repair due to the extent of the damage. When I received the final reimbursement check from Blakemore properties, they charged me a couple hundred dollars for the repairs the earthquake caused! For anyone considering renting a property from Blakemore, RUN fast and far away. I'm speculating that the property owners are not aware of this mistreatment of their tenants, otherwise there would be more negative postings from the Property Owners.
