About Southwood Plumbing & Heating
The owner/operator is Denis O'Halloran, a native of San Francisco. As was his father, Frank O'Halloran. The business was originally started in San Francisco as Hayes Valley Hardware, Heating and Plumbing in 1964. The business moved from the Filmore to the Southwood Shoping Center location at Orange and El Camino in South San Francisco in 1966. While attending Arch Bishop Riordan High School, Denis began working after school and on weekends at Southwood Hardware, Plumbing and Heating for his father and his father's partner, Bill Sylvia. After graduating from Riordan High School in 1981, Denis bought a partnersip in the company from Bill Sylvia. At which time, he began to work full time in the business. He is a Certified Plumbing Inspector and has taught apprenticeship courses at San Mateo Adult School through the Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors Association. He is a certified backflow tester with American Water Works Association. Denis holds a C-36 Plumbing License with the State of California and a C-20 Heating/HVAC License. He loves fishing and has been married for 20 years.
