THOMAS CONSTRUCTION

8/26/2021 ******BEWARE****** Derrick Thomas puts the CON in CONtractor. Below is a list of his vast violations as a contractor. He is also hostile and arrogant. He also claims to have employees; however, it is only him and random people he can scrap together. CHECK HIS LICENSE he has previous violations. I have an open investigation with the Contractors State License Board and potentially pending litigation. TAKE YOUR TIME AND FIND SOMEONE ELSE FOR YOUR PROJECT. 1. Thomas Construction and Derrick Thomas used several unsupervised and unlicensed subcontractors including subcontractors with revoked licenses including: plumbers, concrete and foundation, framing. Derrick Thomas Construction refused to provide me information, insurance and or lien releases for most of them and also forged lien releases. 2. Thomas Construction and Derrick Thomas made several critical errors by not following and or misreading the plans including: forming and pouring the steps in the wrong direction. 3. Thomas Construction and Derrick Thomas did not follow the structural plans and design plans. They left out over 20 anchor bolts and hold downs. They framed entire portions of the ADU incorrectly including: the front porch, back patio, garage, kitchen ceiling. 4. Thomas Construction and Derrick Thomas demanded payment for change orders that I was not aware of and did not authorize. 5. Thomas Construction and Derrick Thomas refused to provide me with insurance and bond information for himself or his subcontractors. 6. Thomas Construction and Derrick Thomas admits yet refuses to reimburse me for money owed. 7. Thomas Construction and Derrick Thomas forced me to pay for materials and labor that he was to pay for under his scope. 8. Thomas Construction and Derrick Thomas attempted to change the scope when he couldn't perform. 9. Thomas Construction and Derrick Thomas created construction defects and damaged my personal property that needed to be remedied.
