We've had Dog Star construction do 2 seperate projects for us over the years, from kitchen counter tops & back splash to an addition of a mother-in-law suite. We were so happy with those jobs that we are having them do a total kitchen remodel for us! Its time to update those 1958 cabinets! They are good people and do great work!

Avon Allen Master Closet Conversion to Master Bath | Jan 2014 | We were contacted by a couple to convert their walk in master bedroom closet into an on suite master bathroom. After reviewing what they wished to accomplish we set out to inspect the project area. What we found upon inspection was that the existing floor joist system was under spanned to meet installation requirements for the Hardi Backer and floor tile installation. There was also extreme settling due to undersized post and beam footings. After leveling the floor, bringing it up over 2 inches, we then added additional floor joists and secured the entire floor system by installing a pressure treated ledger system anchored to the concrete stem wall with epoxy concrete anchors. We then completed the process by installing insulation under the floor. (working in an 18 inch high crawlspace) We were then able to continue onto the bathroom addition. We plumbed in for a double vanity, toilet and walk in shower. The electrical included double lights over the vanity, GFI outlets as well as ceiling dimmable lights and bathroom fan. We took out a small older window and replaced it with a larger louvered window-this was in the walk in shower. We also added an 8 foot x 2 foot fixed transom window above the vanity allowing for additional natural light. The shower was tiled with subway tiles integrating the new louvered window as well as an accessory cubby. For a finishing touch the bathroom was installed with crown molding along the ceiling. | $25k | Mount Vernon, WA |
