Spokane Tile & Design

It's pretty rare for me to review a company, but be careful when doing business with Design Tile. I'm in Coeur d'Alene, which a year Design Tile advertised they did work here. Now, that doesn't appear to be the case. Pre-covid I scheduled a tile job, came to an agreement on a price and work, and paid a 50% deposit. It took a while to get on their schedule for the demo work, removing the old tile, but they come and did they did a quick and clean job. I scheduled the remaining trades to finish their bathroom work and planned to schedule Design Tile afterwards. Then covid hit, so I waited a while. During the summer I followed up to schedule a time to install my new tile. Toliy told me he would get back with me and I never heard back. I called a few months later and was told he had raised his prices while arguing that a invoice was not a contract. Well that's annoying, Toliy seems to not understand that a 50% deposit on an invoice is as good as a contract. Worse yet, he wanted 25% more for the same work that he had already been half paid on. I wasn't happy about the increase, but I wanted my work finished. He didn't seem interested in scheduling my job, and told me his crews were a month out - putting new customers in front of me. After waiting over a year, I wasn't prepared to wait one more month. Toliy offered, and sent me a check for the 50% deposit, not charging me for the tile removal work which was nice, but I'm extremely irritated my time was wasted - time that I won't get back. Toliy - I know you have plenty of work now, but when things slow down, and they will, remember those who you miffed.
