Stay away from Misaque “Adam” Ducy and Geoscaping at all costs!! The last two years have been a living nightmare thanks to Adam and him stealing my $16k+. We do not have a lot of extra money, but we had a 125-ft long, 8 ft high eroding retaining wall in our backyard and felt like it was urgent to get it repaired since it was posing structural risk to our house. After a year of research and a recommendation of another contractor, we chose Adam in June 2023 since he was the lowest bidder. Our agreement was that he would take longer than usual for a project (12 weeks) to complete it, but he would give us a better price since he was using that time to train his others. We wrote him a $16k deposit check and signed a contract, and I told him I was entrusting my life savings with him and he promised he would deliver. The twelve weeks came and went, and all he did was come out to measure a few things and put a temporary plastic safety fence up. He always had a creative excuse for the delays, but then on Sept 18, he said we would add a time bar contract that would take $200 off the wall for every day past our new proposed completion date of November 13. I was okay with waiting on the project completion if that meant the price would be cheaper (but I shouldn’t have believed him). He did cut some branches for me to make room for the equipment at one point, but then he left it visible on the HOA property right next to my house for 2 months before he finally cleaned it up. Fast forward to June 2024, one year after the contract was signed, I have heard every excuse in the book as to why it hasn’t been completed.. His dog got sick, he “lost his phone” multiple times, so many “weather delays,” and he got sick at least 10 times.. I started doing some research and saw that other people had similar issues. I consulted with lawyers and he has been sued 5+ times by other customers and leasing companies that he owes money to. He does not have a legal contractor’s license or valid LLC. It became very apparent that he was never going to complete our wall. I sent a demand letter requesting the money back; no response. I won a lawsuit by going to Williamson County General Session court on Sept 9, 2024, which the judge ordered him to pay me within 10 days. No payment ever came. I tried all methods to contact him and he finally responded to a call in November 2024. He keeps promising to repay me, but still owes me $16k. There have been at least 20 times that we agreed on a date and a payment amount he was going to pay me, sometimes even arranging to meet at a bank, and he would just ghost me at the last minute. I have been extremely patient with him and set up multiple different payment plans and they have all fallen through. He is a pathological liar and can be very convincing, but now I can see through it all. I have taken him to court twice more (on February 24 and June 9) in which he was summoned to show up for an assets subpoena, in which he had to provide his bank statements and asset information. I can see that money is coming in and out of his venmo and bank account (and a lot of it is going to eat dinner at Twin Peaks), but somehow he can’t manage to repay me anything. I have held off on writing reviews in hopes that he would pay me back on his own volition but I am done being nice. I do not want any other family to go through this. I have been through a lot of stressful things in the past 2 years, but this has been the worst by far and stolen so much from me besides just money. The amount of mental health and time this has taken away from my family, including 2 young kids who need me, is absurd. For reference, when I signed this contract and paid the money, I was not pregnant with my second, but now I have a 15-month old. This has been going on far too long and I am done being a part-time lawyer in addition to a full-time job and mom. Trust me when I say you do not want to hire Adam. Despite his sweet talking, he will not deliver and he will screw you over.
