Pergola New Cannan CT | Jan 2012 | A pergola will bring charm, shade and structural interest to your entertaining area. Pergolas offer instant height in your garden and provide welcome shade. Add elegance to your outdoor living with an airy and pretty pavilion! Train woody vines such as a wisteria or climbimg roses for a pretty and natural source of extra shade. As an extension to your kitchen, it will provide additional living area. Add an visual architectural structure. Create an elegant protected entry way. Some of our customers who decided to add a pergola to their home cannot believe that they waited that long: "It feels like we added an outdoor room to our house, and our guests do not have to fight to be under the umbrella anymore when we entertain during the summer time". Old Tinsmith Shop in Stamford CT | Apr 2002 | Built in 1850, this house was formerly a tinsmith shop. Even though it was practically unlivable, having been neglected for over forty years, it was extremely charming. We rebuilt most of the house: We concentrated on making the kitchen area the heart of the house by combining several small and odd rooms, into a pleasant flowing, larger space. The kitchen - dining area is now more open and lighter since we added new, larger windows and ceiling height. We combined functionality and charm by mixing modern appliances, warm wood floors (wormy chestnut and Caribbean pine), limestone counter tops, butcher block cooking island tops. The den was small and dark: New floors, windows, roof line created a much nicer and brighter space. We used a terra cotta plaster finish on the walls. We also rebuilt the brick fireplace, replacing it with a stone one and a beautiful hand-painted and distressed mantel. | $200k | Stamford, CT |
