Services include: Fuel Tank Services, Soil/water investigations, Mold/odor control, Basement moisture remedies, and Construction services. Tank Investigation/Location: Petro Jersey Industries will do a property site sweep and tank search investigation which detects anomalies including any UST (underground storage tank(s). Our environmental technicians carefully search the property using special tank locating equipment which will identify any UST (Underground Storage Tank) or any underground anomalies such as Utilities or other Subsurface Voids. Tank Testing: The most common tests are pressure testing, vacuum testing, and subsurface investigation. We will obtain test results on the integrity of of your oil tank and if necessary, recommend repairs or remove the tank so it doesn't cause any further damage to the building, soil and groundwater. We will remedy these issues quickly so your fuel system can be operating and on line with little down time. ALL our Tank Testing is done by INDEPENDENT highly qualified affiliate companies to insure no conflict of interests. When and if your fuel tank is out of service, Petro Jersey Industries will immediately set up a temporary fuel tank so you experience little interruption in your fuel system. Underground And Above Ground Storage Tank Removal: UST/AST (Underground/Above ground Storage Tank Removals) Permit is obtained after Authorization to Proceed has been signed by customer. The area over the tank is excavated and inspected for leakage along with surrounding soil. If there is leakage, preparation will be done for removing contamination, carting it away and replacing it with clean soil. All fluids and sludge are removed from the exposed tank, the tank is pulled from the ground the inside of tank is cleaned and wiped dry. The cap, fill vent, supply and return pipes are all removed. The job is then inspected by a town or county inspector, if there is no leakage or soil contamination found the tank is removed and transported for proper disposal or recycling. The hole is filled, set to grade and the lawn is restored via sod or other landscaping techniques. Above ground storage Tanks are done in a similar way but without excavation if the is no soil contamination. Tank Installation - Underground Storage Tanks (UST) or Above Ground Storage Tanks (AST): A local permit is first obtained. For above ground tanks, we'll make sure the floor under the proposed oil tank location is safe. A concrete slab is recommended and in some cases required by town ordinance. then all fittings, gauge and pipes are installed. The underground tank is made of resin coatings and steel, which is rust resistant for long life, corrosion and shock resistance. There is a whole line of residential and commercial USTs with anti-corrosion protections. Tank Cleaning With Closure or Abandonment: This is an option, however, the tank must not have a leak. The top of the tank is cut open, all fluid and sludge is removed and the inside of the tank is cleaned. If no leak is found, the tank is than filled with sand. Sand and Fill Tanks: First a local permit is obtained, inspection by town official scheduled after the utility mark is complete. A hole is cut in the tank to access the tank, all oil, sludge and water is removed and disposed of, squeegee cleaned, fill/vent pipes removed, cut or cap supply/return lines. Tank is filled with proper amount of sand/gravel and area excavated with clean fill with original topsoil/grade replaced. Site Remediation: If contamination is found in the surrounding soil, it must be removed and disposed of . This is removed/disposed of to a licensed facility and replaced with new soil. The contaminated soil is the result of a leaking oil tank, damaged oil liner, or oil flow. Soil/Water Investigation: As a service to you, your client and or the property owners, we investigate the presence of soil, water and groundwater contamination. We provide a complete range of field sampling services. Samples are acquired by trained field personnel and analyzed by certified laboratories. With over 100 years of in-house combined experience, we perform these services for both independent investigation (For example, involving the purchase of a property) and for regulatory submissions where a release of environmental liability is a concern or a requirement. Mold/Odor Control: Protect your family and their health from mold and mycotoxins. Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites produced by micro-fungi or molds that are capable of causing disease and death in humans and other animals. Basement Moisture Remedies: The American Society of Home Inspectors, based in Des Plaines, IL, estimates 60 percent of U.S. homes have wet basements, and 38 percent run the risk of basement mold. It is key to determine which of three major problems are contributing your to basement moisture: condensation, runoff, or subsurface seepage. We then can determine what to do about it. Remedies can vary from de-humidification, using a masonry sealing product like DryLok, insulating cold water pipes, venting properly, addressing outside water entry points, repairing or adding a drainage system if needed or basement reconstruction. Construction Services - Licensed, Bonded, and Insured: Our construction services are largely focused on Water Damage, Fire Damage, Smoke Damage, Mold remediation, Biohazard cleanup, and Odor Control - Largely insurance-related work.
