Damm Masonry

I am writing this review to hopefully save others from the nightmare we have been living through since hiring Tom Damm. We hired Tom on 4/15/2022 for masonry work on the front of our house. He required $3000 to start the work. After a couple days of showing up sporadically, he said everything behind the brick was damaged. He said wood was rotted, had mold, termites & second floor would collapse. He requested $7000 more to continue and to buy lumber, drywall & supplies. After that he disappeared. He wouldn’t answer his phone or return calls. He eventually showed back up to measure for a brace “to hold up” second floor and requested another check. Red flag! He’d done almost nothing and already had $10,000 from us. We researched and found many bad reviews calling him a scammer. We called a carpenter to take another look at what was going on with our home. He let us know there was no damage. No water damage, no mold, no termites and the second floor was solid. We still tried to work with Tom since he had our $10,000, but after more delays/excuses, we decided to move on. We requested an invoice for work completed and a refund check from the $10,000 we paid him. To date, he hasn't provided either an invoice or a refund check. He has said multiple times that he would drop off a refund check but hasn’t. This man is a liar and a crook.

Gave us a quote to pour a small section of sidewalk, brick around the entire sidewalk to tie the old and new together. Demanded full amount of $1800 for materials. He was to get $2500 once the brick work was done. Sidewalk chipped, flaked and broke along the edges. He came out after numerous bad reviews by me and broke the sidewalk apart and refuses to fix it. RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
