Elderly grandparents (90+ years old) were mistreated and taken advantage of. I do not recommend Onondaga Chimney and Masonry Services. Very disappointing and unprofessional service. Customer service/treatment was unsatisfactory as well. My 90 year old grandparents retained this company to redo their chimney from roofline to crown. Brickwork was acceptable; however, concrete crown was poorly installed and cracked within days of installation and reinstallation. Owner (Troy) blamed everything/everyone else but his own work and craftsmanship. Troy and his crew had to return twice to remove and reinstall the concrete crown but only after several calls and unprofessional conduct on owners part. As an example, told my elderly grandparents to "Shut up" when they tried to speak to him about their concerns with the cracks. I had to get involved and call him myself to resolve the issues. We agreed that he would contact me before returning for the reinstallation of the reinstallation; however, he failed to call (despite claiming he did) and then left a very unprofessional voicemail for me (which I have saved). Save yourself the hassle and inappropriate treatment; find a more competent, professional and respectful contractor when looking for Chimney work.

Guys, CAREFUL! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! I have to tell you what happened with this company. I Adam Rowe was in fact not only a client but a victim of Troy Gregory's company onondaga masonry and chimney. Myself and team members feel very strong about keeping the contractors honest and fair to their customers. Unfortunately it's sad, we have seen countless times contractors taking advantage of the general public and their customers. Born and raised in and around the beautiful fingerlakes region I have had a lot of experience working with contractors. We have had the priviledge of working with terrific ones and some not so great ones. Worst case scenario, quite ite frankly I will not put up being bullied around by false promises, poor quality, lies, fraud and manipulation. We want to expose all the companies that are doing some of these things so this doesnt happen to decent people in the community We need to hold these companies accountable for their actions to let the truth be known. We want to implement quality control and have agencies and people in place to hold the fraudulent contractors accountable to do any or keep doing any business. My story: Stated out doing construction and now very fortunate/ successful doing real estate investments in Syracuse, NY and the Las Vegas area. Long story short I contacted a man by the name of Troy Gregory that was reference through a friend. The first and foremost job was kind of an emergency and Onondaga masonry came to the rescue. They did a great job and quite reasonable on a foundation wall at one property. Only complaint was they left a bunch of debris and mess laying around which I have pictures. The second job I needed help with rebuilding a set of stairs, some smoothing of sidewalks and help with 2 porches. Even though it sounded as so he solely has a masonry company I asked him if he did anything involving those other trades he said "yes " of which i have in writing. I said okay and we agreed that if I paid him a lump sum to do the first few jobs he said of which I have proof of him saying he would finish my 2 porches for only 800 dollars more after the other jobs were finished. ( one of which was a carpentry job) since I gave him that other work it was a sweet deal My partners and I very satisfied at the time to find such a great owner / company until it went sour with him. We all agreed and he did the first round of work. I paid him as it went along with partial deposits on all work and all that remained at the end was the porches. After months went by and asking him countless times about the porch jobs he assured he had us "first on the list when the weather breaks in spring" Keep in mind I am out of town this entire time. As the weather became better he went to the site and started acting funny giving us excuses saying that more damage was created over winter and he couldn't do the job. That is untrue since it's obvious the porch is in a solid state and took 40 years for that porch to settle. He just made a different excuse every time to get out of it. As time went on and it started slowing my business progress down I realized that somthing was very wrong with the what Troy Gregory/ Onondaga masonry was telling us. I had a talk with my partners and i talked with him yet again om the issue to find out what was going to be done as of compensation. All of which I have in writing. He then started to say and deny everything and then he called me " stupid " His next excuse why he couldn't do the porches was that "he and or his company doesnt know how to do that kind of work " my partners and I were appauled after he had promised otherwise and fraudulently manipulated us from the get go. We feel embarrassed and used for trusting him. It was a big setback for us and he had no remorse for his actions which lead us to believe it is possible he has done this to countless clients. I would not recommend doing business with Onondaga Masonry and Troy Gregory unless they clean up their act!
