This email is in regards to several complaints that we would like to file against the following contractor: Company Name: AHI Construction Owner: Bobby Copeland License: 779887 Complaint #1: Bobby Copeland asked and was paid 10% of the contract which was more than $1,000. We paid $3,150 dollars upon signing the contract. Complaint #2: Bobby Copeland refused to provide COI that shows his liability of worker’s compensation for his 4 workers. Complaint #3: Bobby never provided us a timeline of when things were schedule to be worked on and completed even after asking him several times for it. He would state that he would send it to us but after 5 weeks on the job never provided it. Complaint #4: Bobby Copeland and his workers never cleaned up nor respected our home after the end of each workday. There were live electric wires hanging from the ceiling, copper pipes, nails and debris from demo all over the place. Bobby knew we were still traveling to and from our home to get necessities and would have to clean up after them to get to bedrooms and closets. Debris was so bad that my wife trip over debris getting to her closet to grab clothes and ended up falling and landing on a pile of 2x4’s with nails point up and a used electrical box with a nail pointing out. Complaint #5: Bobby and his workers never used any protective gear to protect our new furniture, carpets that we are keeping, our newly remodeled kitchen and counter tops, cabinets or our walls that we painted 2 weeks before he started the job. We have to replace our carpets in the master bedroom and one of the guest bedrooms. We have to repaint walls that were not protected. Complaint #6: On October 14th at 6pm, when We went to look at the progress and noticed dripping coming from the toilet water valves and was seeping through the floor into the downstairs ceiling drywall and left a puddle of water on the downstairs kitchen floor. We contacted Bobby to come and fix the issue to prevent further water damage and he said he would send one of his workers and no one showed up. He refused to fix any damages that were caused. Complaint #7: once he finished the guest bathroom we noticed the tile niche was not how we asked him to do it. We could also see behind the tile and seen it was not waterproof. We asked him to redo it but he refused and stayed that it was up to code. All the grout lines were cracked, tile is cracked and we gave him the opportunity to waterproof and tile correctly he told me that waterproofing a shower is extra and I didn’t ask for that in my contact. He refused to repair the guest bathroom after three times of asking to make it up to code. Complaint #8: Bobby and his workers also damaged our roof when installing a new window. The window was dropped upon being installed and broke multiple roof tiles and he never informed us about it. Complaint #9: Bobby was very unprofessional and used disrespectful and degrading language toward us multiple times during the time he was working on our home. Complaint #10: Bobby promised to pay and have our carpets shampooed due to not being protected. He also promised to reimburse us for the tile and marble trim pieces in the guest bathroom that have to be completely redone because it wasn’t waterproofed. Complaint #11: Bobby is the co owner of 3 day kitchen and bath along with Jose. Bobby asked us for a deposit for the materials so Jose could start building our custom vanity. We paid him $1,250 deposit for him to pay Jose. The total vanity cost was $2,500. When Bobby quit he informed us that he was keeping the money we paid for the vanity deposit and that this was never paid to Jose.
