Extreme tree care

I just used AJ's tree service to cut down two large poplar trees. I was at work and he said he would call me 30 minutes before he was finished. My mother was rushed to the hospital and was in serious condition so I ran to the bank and brought him cash as he had asked for cash. I was afraid I wouldn't be home in time to pay. Big mistake!!!! He left a huge tree partially in my neighbors yard and won't return my calls. I think he even blocked me. DO NOT USE THIS CON ARTIST! What kind of man does this to women???? After reading the reviews this seems to be the way he works. Such a low life!

We had An's Tree Service come and take out a dying tree for us. They're very professional and did a fine job. I would be willing to use them again.

A cautionary tale if you are looking for a tree removal company. I would caution against using AJ’s Tree Service. We had two trees removed two weeks ago. The price we were quoted for the removal, clean up, splitting and stacking the wood for fire wood was $2300. After a bit of negotiation we reached an agreement on $1800. They were supposed to start at 9 am on May 4 and didn’t show up until almost 1. They worked until 6 and were able to drop the two trees and cut up one into 18 inch rounds. We were informed that we would be responsible for removing the brush and cutting up the trees that they had dropped or that for another $600 they could remove the brush. We felt that we had no choice but to pay the additional $600 as we were unable to remove the brush ourselves. They returned on May 10 to remove the brush. They removed some of the brush and decided to call it a day with the promise that they would return on Friday May 12th to finish the job. Well needless to say when they returned they removed some more of the brush and also informed us that their saws were broken and they wouldn’t be able to cut up the remaining tree that they had dropped. They did give us a $50 discount on the brush removal and now we are left with a yard that is completely trashed. I realize that we have no one to blame for our predicament but ourselves. First, Craigslist is not the place to look for tree trimmers. We should have either posted on here for recommendations or checked Home Advisor for someone. Second we should have gotten our agreement in writing as now it is just our word against their word as to what was promised. And thirdly we should have asked for references and verified them before hiring them. I am attaching a photo of what a small section of our yard looks like. The whole back yard looks like this and worse in some places. This is what $2350 will get you with AJ’s Tree Service. I had to give them one star. If I could have posted a negative rating I would have.

My wife used AJ's to do some tree work. She paid them in full, before the work was complete, and they never returned to complete it. They've been avoiding her calls and texts for 2 months. They behave like a bunch of con-artists.
