SB Painters

This is a scam company. Do not hire them. I bought the house and want to repaint it, both inside and outside the house. I went to LOWE, and they recommended using porch pro. They said all of the vendors in this list are background check, so I felt safety, go to www.porch.com, searched and found three painters, one of them is SB painters. I called all three of them to get quotes. Two provided me quote, SB provided me lowest quote. I agreed to contract with SB painters, wrote the details in 1 page contract. My only mistake was not putting the start date and how long they have to finish the contract. However, the owner gave me the verbal promise that they will finish the both inside and outside the house in 1 week and two days. For the payment, I agreed that I paid half of the value of the contract first, the second half will be paid when the contract finish. Everything looks OK now. I gave him a check, he immediately cashed my check. The first day, only two persons came to work. At the end of the day, I went back to see what happened. I saw only one person, and he did not work. I asked what happened, and that person told me that he just painted 5 gallons, and now he run out of paint. The second day, no one came to work. I called and they told me they were going to get the paint, so be patient. The third day, no one came to work. I was angry. I called, just get voice message. I texted, and one guy called me back and said something emergency came up, so they cannot came to work today. The fourth and fifth day, they came to work at noon and left at 7:00pm. The next day, they were off. I asked when they can finish. They said don’t worry. They will bring more guys and finish on time. Well, they lied. All of the time they worked in my house there were only two guys. Sometime only one guy Worked. My wife stop by the house, she gave them sandwiches, drinks, ice. We did that to encourage them finishing on time so we can move in. They worked very slow, and the quality is poor. I told them we need to move in on Memorial weekend. They said don’t worry, we will finish before that. Then they kept delay on their promise. First, they said they will finish by Wednesday before Memorial weekend, then Friday before Memorial weekend, then on Monday, Memorial Day. They made some progress, but they worked very slow, and the quality is poor. On the Memorial weekend both my wife & I had to come to watch them. We had to put many sticker for them to went back and fixed what they just did a day or few hours ago. We were very angry, but we want to solve it peacefully. Then, on the Tuesday after the Memorial Day, the owner said he had jury duty so he shall be off on the Tuesday. On that day, he never called us to inform that he was not selected for jury duty and came back to work. On Tuesday evening, I went back the house to check. He just finished painting the rooms in up stair. However, at the rooms they finish, they did not clean it up, so the paint drips was everywhere. Worst, the washed their painting tools in my sink. Trashes were everywhere. They ate the lunches that my wife bought for them and leave the trash there. The contract state very clear that they have to paint every wall inside my house, paint the ceiling of the dining, master room and master bath room, paint every door, door frames, window base, base plates, cabinet in the first floor, touch up all of the door on the second floor, and painting all the thing outside my house. But for almost 4 weeks, they just finish painting rooms on the second floor (however, at the rooms they finish, they did not clean it up). They did not finish any ceilings. They did not paint any door, door frames, window base, base plates, cabinet in the first floor, no touch up of any doors on the second floor, and nothing happened outside. They painted some inside walls, but they were not completely finish. And the quality was poor. I paid them the half of the contract, but they did not even finish half of inside my house, and they did not painting anything outside. I had no choice to terminate the contract with them. Right after that the owner called me, threatened me, and request to more money. I had to contact my lawyer to protect my house. I learn the expensive lesson from this company. I was scammed by this company. Do not ever hire them.

They were extremely polite and professional. They were on time and even finished the job within a reasonable time-frame. These guys were knowledgeable about the products and appeared to be really experienced. Most importantly my House looks great! I would recommend them
