New Day Tornado Shelters

We purchased our New Day shelter in April 2020. It was installed into my existing attached garage in Clever MO. While its never been tested in a tornado, in our opinion that's just fine. We still have the peace of mind of knowing that it's certified to work when called upon. It just sits there in the corner. It's just a few short steps from our home interior. We have had drills and we can be safely locked in the New Day Shelter within 40 seconds if we are dressed with shoes on our feet. Takes a about two minutes if aroused from bed with and alarm clock. This includes time to grab our NOAA weather radio. Not very scientific drills but its practice. This puppy came with a padded floor, padded walls, lighting, escape tools if the door gets blocked, exterior signal to help with location, ear protection, and a fan, It included a bucket with a chair lid, and a bag of candy. We filled the bucket with extra clothing, shoes, energy bars, trash bag rain ponchos, 50 year water, a hand held, 5 watt, 2 meter Ham radio (requires battery maintenance twice per year), and a trauma first aid kit. Not sure where the whistle came from it might have been included with the New Day shelter. Yep! It all fits in the bucket. We feel (don't want to know) that the house could blow away and we would be safe inside. The way Derk bolts it into the existing garage slab we don't think a bulldozer could move it (don't want to know). One may beat the price but not the thickness of the steel. Nice paint job too.

Very professional team who came and set my storm shelter up in one day. We are thankful for the security in knowing that we have a place to ride the storm out when they come.

It's hard to even put into words how amazing this company is. Two words that come to mind about my expierence with New Day Tornado shelters are: STRESS FREE! From the initial contact to the installation everything was smooth sailing. The owner, Derk, contacted me after I submitted an inquiry online. He told me all about the shelter and we scheduled installation. Derk, himself, was the one to come install my shelter! He arrived on time, explained the process and got to work. It was interesting to watch my shelter get installed. He didn't mind my watching and answered every question I had. He didn't leave until everything was perfect. We even went over everything that was included and how everything works. He taught me how the locks work and after showing me how had me do it to make sure I understood! Top notch customer service and satisfaction. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a shelter! A+++++++
