We originally wanted this company Coastline Construction to do a few projects they were contracted to do 2. JOB 1: Paid half the cost up front and the rest was due at the end of the job. (per company’s policy) to have roof repaired, remove water damaged ceiling , treat mold, install drywall, and paint. I work at Lowe's, so I asked for a list of all the supplies required for the job, I would purchase them with my discount and all they needed to do was pick up the supplies from Lowe's only 3 miles from my house, the day of the job, but somehow this was confusing for the work crew and Cathy. Supplies were ready for pick up on scheduled day, crew didn't show, claimed no supplies. So they went to Home Depot and picked them up. I provided my receipts, as well as, my military ID for the 10% discount she promised. I had to calculate the invoice due to the many discrepancies. To top it off the quality of work wasn’t up to standards and not completed correctly so we had to hire another company to do the job properly. My roof still leaked when Coastline Construction LLC was "completed". They also took all the extra supplies that were remaining from the job. The amount of work performed and the quality of that work done does not equal the amount I paid! She responded that she wasn’t going to discount the cost for the supplies they took that weren't used, like it was a service to me to remove them from my property. We told the company that we were going to seek legal assistance and Cathy responded with “Good Luck with your project”. To this day Coastline Construction has made no attempt to refund us our money or return my property. JOB 2: attache 3 pieces of siding. 2 of the 3 pieces are still attached. The critical piece at the a-frame came down in first storm. I don't recommend this company's services to anyone unless you want to give yourself frustration and throw away your money.

We originally wanted this company Coastline Construction to do a few projects they were contracted to do 2. JOB 1: Paid half the cost up front and the rest was due at the end of the job. (per company’s policy) to have vanity remove, treat mold, install insulation and drywall, paint, and install new vanity in our half bath. Robert was told that we were keeping the 72-inch custom made sink but the “plumber” Shorty took it and supposedly it was donated (WE did not approve that! WE wanted to keep it!) The “plumber” ,Shorty, that was sent out, quality of work wasn’t up to standards and not completed correctly so we had to hire another company to do the job properly. The only work that was completed by Coastline Construction was the removal of the old vanity and mold, installation of insulation and drywall. The amount of work performed and the quality of that work done does not equally the amount that was paid. JOB 2: The flooring had to be done due to the style of the new vanity that was to be installed in the half bath. Here is where the issues started. We were told the square footage of our half bath and kitchen and what the cost would be. Again we paid half up front with the remainder due at the end. We never got to the end. Since day one of the floor project we had been asking for clarification of how Cathy Tally computed to cost of the floors. The laminate floors were laid in straight lines and end to end. They weren’t layered in the alternating lengths like the instructions clearly stated. The floors were 80% wrongly done when another crew had to come out to completed the job due to our lack of confidence in Robert Tally unprofessional conduct and then after seeing the floors, his poor quality of work. The second crew pointed out that the floor were not correct and would not finish it. They we also the first inform us that the square footage of our areas were not 300 square foot as Robert had told us. Cathy was notified and agreed to pay for replacement floors and have the work redone. Cathy said that she would send the second floor crew out ONLY after we sign a contract stating that we agree to pay the remaining balance. We asked again (approximately the 5th or 6th time in the 2 week period) for the computation and asked for the floors to be remeasured. She responded that she wasn’t going to discount the cost. We were without the use of our half bath and kitchen due to removal of the floor (and the appliances since the floors were to be redone). We told the company that we were going to seek legal assistance and Cathy responded with “Good Luck with your project”. We have since found out that the company over estimated our half bath and kitchen by over 100 square feet with waste. The quality of the work performed resulted in the floors having to be removed and reinstalled and the cost to purchase new floors do not equal the amount paid. To this day Coastline Construction has made no attempt to refund us our money. We have pictures of the workmanship.

Recently Coastline Construction installed a tile backsplash in my kitchen and replaced my concrete driveway. Also, they did various handyman services in my home. They did an excellent job with all projects and they were very reasonably priced. I would use Coastline for future projects and I do recommend them.

Willow Ave | Jun 2014 | This house was in bad repair. The roof had shingles missing, lifted and curling. The plywood was rotted in some areas from moisture damage. We tore off the existing shingles, repaired all rotted wood as needed put down #15 roofing felt, flashing, ice shield in the valleys and drip edge. We then re-roofed with a 30 year architectural shingle. For the first time in years, the homeowner doesn't have to worry when it rains. | $10k | Chesapeake, VA
Willow Ave Kitchen Rehab | May 2014 | Rehabbed a kitchen that was in terrible shape. Water had leaked through a bad roof causing water damage all the way -wallboard,studs,ceiling, cabinets, flooring were all affected. We ripped everything out to the studs and rebuilt. (Replacing studs where needed. Replaced drywall on walls and ceiling, installed tile floor, beautiful 42" white cabinets going all the way to the ceiling giving him much more cabinet space than before. Installed new electrical, lighting, range hood, double stainless steel sink, faucet and counter tops. This project was very rewarding as it provided the homeowner with a bright, efficient and updated kitchen which he had not had in some time. This homeowner was able to finance this project with proceeds from a REVERSE mortgage allowing him to have this work done and not have to come out of pocket for the work. He is a VERY HAPPY HOMEOWNER! | $20k | Chesapeake, VA

Enlarged a small passthru from the kitchen to dining area and created and installed a breakfast bar. Installed vinyl plank flooring, painted the great room, dining area, and kitchen. Moved electrical to allow for the larger passthru. Removed old and installed new blinds on all the windows. | $10k | Chesapeake, VA

Bathroom update/remodel | Nov 2013 | Back in 1980's it was fashionable to have wallpaper EVERYWHERE and plate glass mirrors in bathrooms. Now it is just plain dated. We took this small hall bath with flowery wallpaper and laminate cabinets and updated it. The "after" look is polished, with dark espresso vanity with a contemporary sink top, faucets, and lighting and cabinets over the toilet. Removing the wall paper and huge mirror made such a difference. We also took out the dated louvered medicine cabinet and drywalled and painted the walls. The cabinet over the toilet provides space for toiletries etc. taking the place of the medicine cabinet. Total cost of job, under $2000.00 | $2k | Chesapeake, VA
Rivanna River Reach Remodel | Oct 2013 | This 1980's kitchen needed an update. We took down wallpaper, painted, installed new ALL WOOD cabinets, GRANITE counter tops and breakfast bar and stainless steel APPLIANCES. The homeowner LOVED her new LOOK! | $12k | Chesapeake, VA
1409 Lewis St, Chesapeake VA 23320 | Jul 2013 | The customer was tired of painting. We were called in to install vinyl siding on the gables, wrap the fascia board with aluminum, and install vented soffits. Not only is their home maintenance free but their attic is cooler due to the vented soffits installed. This is saving them on their heating and cooling bills. A nice bonus. | $9k | Chesapeake, VA
Orton St Portsmouth,VA 23701 | May 2013 | Homeowner wanted to enlarge her master bedroom, add another bath and more closet space. We created an addition to her specifications including a full bath and closet, adding on to the back of her existing house. Bathroom has tiled shower and floor. Bedroom is carpeted. Swirl plastered the walls and painted walls and trim. Installed siding and shingles to match her existing home. | $20k | Portsmouth, VA |
