Good morning! My name is Chris Kay here, and I am the creator and sole proprietor of HONEYDEW SERVICES!! First and foremost, I work at the oceanfront, or in the adjacent zip codes. It is difficult for me to travel to our sister cities of Hampton Roads at this time. Please enjoy a little of my story: After a successful and exciting 22 year career in food and beverage, the passion was gone, and I knew it was time for a change. Having experienced the fulfillment of being a volunteer for Sentara Hospice for a number of years, I knew healthcare was my next calling! So, I earned a LPN license and took a job on the medical-surgical unit of Sentara Virginia Beach General. I was good at it, but quickly realized that clinical expertise should begin at a much younger age, and perhaps this was NOT my calling! One day while painting a fence for a friend, and contemplating the challenges of beginning a clinical career at the age of forty, my first client said, "you should start a company, and call it 'Honey Do'!!" Honeydew Services is born! I had a Toyota Corolla, a shovel, an entrepeneurial drive, and the integrity and work ethic instilled on me through good parenting. Six years later, I have a successful company that is built upon these convicted foundations, and where I have developed hundreds of very personal/professional relationships. I am the kind of guy who will go to your mom's house, help her unload the groceries, re-organize that bothersome garage, re-seal the toilet, and then put a professional paint job on the guest room - all in the same day, and at a fraction of the cost of commercial retail services!! Through collaboration with my many clients, keeping an open mind, and remaining teachable, I find solutions to problems every day that are cost efficient and effective. Common practice in our industry is to address a cracked tile in your backsplash by suggesting a $17,000 kitchen remodel - I'm not that guy! I will cut the grass, or repair and reseal your deck! I know the difference between pruning crepe myrtles, azaleas, hydrangeas, and boxwoods. Thanks to having the best clients at the Beach, I learn something new every day!
