I am now one week later as of today Feb 16, 2018 seeing flaws in the wood fence that i read other reviews discussed. Now i understand why they tell u to sign the warranty b4 they begin and the warranty states they are NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WOOD. This is 5 days in our winter as of Feb. 16, 2018. My neighbors had their fence built by Tinos and there is not one flaw like this after 3 plus years. (Tino didnt want to give us a quote and told us to use Lowes!) Photos posted on Yelp. Photos didnt copy here. I physically visited spence fence because I had received an incorrect invoice and was treated horribly. I've rewritten this review like 10 times! The bottom line is I became angry over the manner in which business was done. My believing what I was told and learning the hard way that if its not in writing its meaningless. I especially took issue over the billing invoice which did not reflect what had been discussed. I was billed the total amount for a shared fence after having been assured verbally I'd be billed for my half only. My neighbor and I had both given our credit card numbers ahead of time. There was nothing noted or itemized or posted to clarify my half or my part. I felt this had to be cleared up immediately. I wrote an email expressing my concerns and fears and doubts. We also learned the hard way that a friendly verbally accommodating sales guy is useless if he doesn't update your quote. The only honest straight forward talk I got was from the builder. Im grateful. He was between a rock and a hardspot because of his "higher-ups". I drove out to the company in person desperate to get the invoice corrected. The office billing woman was Extremely defensive and rude. She had zero interest in my concerns. In fact she felt rather insulted. She barely allowed me to finish a sentence. Over talked me. Accused me for MY attitude! Other employees stood at their doors listening. And because i was upset told me if i didn't leave and wait outside she would withhold fixing my invoice and further she would make me wait till she mailed it. (It was raining.) I wanted that corrected invoice! I got it! I waited outside. Did she in any way address anything or take any level of responsibility for the invoice? Did she attempt to relate to me as a customer? Did she offer someone I could speak to about the salesman not addressing our needs? Did she want to know how she could serve us better in future? Did my experience matter at all? Did she care how she represented her company? Makes me wonder if those things matter anymore. Be aware! Cross your t's and dot your i's In Writing because the office woman (and i dont even know her name!) treated me like dirt FOR BEING ANGRY AND UPSET. And that's a lot of money to b treated like dirt. I see im not the only person here on yelp who spoke with a rude office billing person. The actual fence builders were decent guys and they did as ordered. The actual builder had good manners and was honest. The fence at this point "appears" and "seems" to be ok. Im not a professional. Also the paperwork is thrown at u last moment as crew is arriving and i was told to sign the warranty first otherwise the crew couldnt build. I dont know if thats a typical policy.(I dont know bcuz no one talks to you and prepares u ahead of time.) The warranty doesnt cover the wood! Is that normal? I asked but didnt really get an answer to my "what if?" about a picket severely warping say within a month or 2. At that same moment is when i was also presented with the invoice with the incorrect amount..... All this while im needing to leave for my job. If u dont ask all these details and address them ahead of time IN WRITING with any company then this type of circumstance can happen. Dont be swayed by friendly accommodating words. Go to Yelp for posted photos.
