A - 1 CONTRACTORS INC

We had A-1 install our panels Oct 2014. Took them weeks to install, as they kept having problems with the system work. They even blew out my oven. They had to buy me a new oven. Our system does not work properly and all numerous phone calls through the YEARS have not been answered or returned. We want to report to BBB but we still need our panels serviced at the box.

I normally write good reviews, but am unable to this time. Things started our alright. I thought I just needed to have an outlet replaced. They didn't have the right one and had to come back another day, but that was fine. Then they checked my electrical box and determined that it needed to be replaced. They gave me a box that doesn't want to open and the guy who installed it said it was defective, but they put it in anyway. He took excessive stucco out and had his dad try to fill it in. His dad worked on it for a while and said it is so thick that it won't dry properly and he would return to finish it. Someone came back but didn't finish the stucco. I asked him to paint over the new stucco so it would match the house so they got paint but it didn't match. They wouldn't get matching paint so I had to eventually go to Sherwin WIlliams and purchase it myself and do the painting over the stucco that never was completed. Shortly after the new box was installed, my electricity began to go off and on, eventually off for minutes at a time . I called them back and when they could fit someone into their schedule to come, he said that one wire was loose and everything else was ok. A day or so later all of my electricity went out in the evening. I called but the guy who said he is always on call didn't answer. I left a message saying I really needed help and explained what happened. Several hours later the electricity came back on but I never heard back from them. A day or so later they sent out someone who said that a screw had been put in wrong and changed it. Still had problems with the electricity going out. Eventually they sent someone from A-Plus electrical. He opened the box and knew right away what was wrong. All sorts of sparks were flying and he disconnected what he needed to, went to the shop and brought back the part he needed, and it has been fine ever since. This was a $1900 job and I think I should have been treated with more consideration. I was scared my house would burn down. The good I got from this experience is to have found their friend who helps them out (A+) and seems to really know his stuff.
