18.3 kW Photovoltaic System on Wrightsville Beach, NC

Mar 2014

Application: Commercial Type: Retrofit Style: Roof Mount Technology: SunPower 327 W Solar Modules Description of solar installation: This solar system was designed to lower operational costs of this private beach club and give back to nature by lowering the organizations carbon footprint. Engineered and constructed with high winds, direct sun and salty air in min, this system consists of 56 high efficiency 327-watt SunPower solar panels and 3 SunPower 6000p inverters. The overall appearance compliments the buildings architecture and minimizes the visual impact on the natural surroundings. The payback, like many other commercial solar systems, is expected after the 5th year, based on the estimated electricity savings. The forecasted power production can be monitored 24/7 with an online based monitoring system.

64.3 kW Photovoltaic System in Southport, NC

Sep 2013

Application: Commercial Type: Retrofit Style: Roof Mount Technology: SunPower 327 W Solar Modules Description of solar installation: This solar system was designed to lower operational costs of a bio-tech facility with high demand for electricity due to industrial refrigeration and other commercial needs. Engineered and constructed with 201 high efficiency 327-watt SunPower solar panels and 5 Fronius 277V inverters, this system will generate more than 98,603 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per year. Using a holistic engineering approach, this grid-tied system was designed using a ballasted roof mounting structure to avoid roof penetrations, while still meeting hurricane wind codes, and to make it invisible from the ground. The overall appearance compliments the buildings architecture and minimizes the visual impact on the natural surroundings. The forecasted power production can be monitored 24/7 with an online based FST PV2 monitoring system offering payback in less than 5 years.
