Progression of Space

Dec 2015

A tiny side vestibule and stairs up to a galley kitchen congested the entry into this home. The rooflines in the back of the house were awkward, and there was no place to sit and enjoy the back yard. Meadowlark Builders created a design that yielded a larger light-filled kitchen, a spacious mudroom area with lots of storage and a seating bench, a full first floor master suite and a sitting porch at the back of the home. Energy efficiency upgrades – including new windows, upgraded insulation and more efficient appliances – make this home more comfortable and healthy to live in.

Arboretum House

Mar 2015

Sustainability, low maintenance, natural materials and a modern design aesthetic were also important qualities for their new home. The clients chose their home site because of its location adjoining Ann Arbor’s famous Arboretum and the stunning natural views it afforded.

Two-tone Kitchen Refresh

Sep 2013

The owners of this ca. 2000 home wanted to create a more modern and functional space while maintaining the original footprint. Meadowlark Builders used two-tone cabinetry, clever storage solutions, warm lighting and mixed countertops to create an inviting space for the entire family.
