Garden coaching - homeowner wanted to get started gardening, but had no idea where and how to begin. We met to discuss ideal locations in her yard, bed design ideas, soil amending, plant selection, best seasons for growing certain things, fertilizing, "pest" management (our philosophy is that when you start with good soil, provide a defined area with a border (preferable built up 12-18 inches) and give it the right amount of water - the pest issues - from slugs, to caterpillars, even weeds - will be minimal) We believe, as did this homeowner, that creating an edible garden is more than just providing healthy food organically, it is a lifestyle. It nourishes not only the body, but the earth, and ultimately... the soul. Not a bad deal.
