If you’re lucky enough to get on Old Hand Painting’s schedule, do it—especially if you’re repainting an older home (though I’m sure the quality of Joshua and Matthew’s work is just as good with newer homes). These guys are far and above the best my husband and I have ever used! I found them just by chance when I was googling for someone to paint our new (to us) 1920’s craftsman. They had a stellar online reputation, and we appreciated the fact that they specialized in painting historic homes. When I called, they were booked for the next several months, so I pretty much gave up on getting them. The gods must have been smiling on us, however, as Joshua called the morning we were getting bids from other painters and told us that they had had a last-minute cancellation that would free them up at the very time we needed them. Joshua and Matthew came over that day, and, while their estimate was a bit higher than others’, we soon learned that they were worth every penny—and then some! Joshua and Matthew (and Joshua’s younger brother, another Matthew) treated our home as though it was theirs, in every respect. They NEVER cut corners—and, in fact, did things TO corners (and walls, and trim, and cabinets, and…) that were well above our expectations. We thought our house was lovely before they started, but, when they were done, it truly looked like a work of art. They were also extremely professional, communicating regularly with us on their status (we weren’t living in our home yet), showing up when they said they’d show up, and, most importantly, finishing the job right on schedule—something on which Joshua said he prides himself. (Joshua said he’s NEVER missed a deadline, and anyone who’s worked with contractors knows that that, alone, is remarkable!) Joshua and Matthew aren’t just painters; they’re artists. They care deeply about old homes, and restoring them to their prior beauty is part of the legacy they want to leave behind. (Yes, Joshua actually said this to me, and it’s clearly true.) Needless to say, my husband and I would HIGHLY recommend this company.

We met Matthew Beasley through a reference from is sister, Jenna at Straight Edge Painting. We gave Matthew the challenge of creating a color palate from the tile in our entrance hallway and applying it as Italian faux finish in our dining room and breakfast nook wall. We were amazed at the beauty of his artistry which is the centerpiece of our home remodel project. I can't say enough good things about Matthew's professionalism and his artistic skills. We love his work.

Finally getting around to this much deserved "review"...I had the good fortune of having Joshua and Matthew paint all of my outside decking and stairs and a bridge over my little creek. Joshua listened to my concerns and shared with me all of his thoughts and suggestions and researched the best way to handle the job. Very dedicated and professional. It was a pleasure to meet these two gentlemen (and Joshua's brother, Matthew, too) and have them do this fine work without any fuss or mess.

I was fortunate enough to not only hire Josh to do several large painting projects in my own house renovation, but also to work with him on other projects (I do some interior design work). He is a skilled painter, a professional and reliable worker, and a pleasure to have around. Not only did Josh offer seasoned professional advice, he also helped us to find and vet a mason to help re-point our chimney, which turned out beautifully. He's an asset on any job, and if you're looking for a trustworthy and detail-oriented person to work with, I highly recommend him.
