I would give zero stars if I could. He owes my husband and I over $2,000 for unfinished work and for projects we paid him for, but he never even started. Will lacks an understanding of project planning and time management (his “2-week project” turned into a 2+ month project, and he never finished a single task), professionalism (he showed up to work inconsistently and also brought up his personal financial and health problems to us regularly), and to top it off his work is mediocre at best (one example of this is that he put up a wall in our bathroom that is nowhere near level.) After continuously missing his own contractual deadlines on our bathroom remodel [original due date 5/18], we had Will sign a document that stated if he did not finish up as of July 2, 2018, he would refund us the money for the work he did not complete. We ended up firing him on July 3; he had just requested “a month break” to make money elsewhere, so after two months of hearing his lies AND learning that he was not paying his employee for weeks of work, we decided we could not trust him and we would be better off with an un-finished project. We still have not seen a cent of our money back, and Will has repeatedly ignored our calls and messages for reimbursement. I took photographs of the project and detailed notes every day that Will was working on our house. We also have Facebook and text messages saved from him that validate everything noted here. If anyone is interested in hiring him and needs the proof not to, I will gladly provide the documentation. We will be filing a claim in small claims court and reporting his actions to the BBB, so hopefully others can learn from our mistakes and avoid Will Barnes and his business entirely.
