I would like to replace an existing standard interior 30 x 80 swing door with a sliding pocket door needing to be cut into the existing drywall studs and door jam. It would be between our kitchen and laundry room I have already purchased the sliding pocket door frame and intend to reuse the existing door. There are no existing electrical plumbing or air shafts behind the drywall. Just 2 X 4 studs. The laundry room is very small and current swinging door makes it even smaller. I have seen them installed in other homes with the same design/floorplan as mine so I know it is possible. I would like to get a quote/estimate for what such a project would likely cost. This would be a highly desirable home improvement but not an absolute must have at any cost. Timing is very flexible no rush.
