Peale Park In-Law-Suite Addition

Feb 2020

An in-law-suite or just some extra space for guests and entertaining, this Addition sits a few steps across the deck from the house. A modest living area with wet bar has vaulted ceilings with clerestory windows over the French doors. The bathroom is in the center with a vaulted ceiling above. A private small bedroom sits at the rear, with high ceilings and lots of natural light. The small scale is in keeping with the 100-year-old house, while the shed roof and wall of glass give it a contemporary spin. Deck was re-built and stairs added.

Hanna Lynn In-Law-Suite Addition

Dec 2018

With the main house already built, and a large garden in place for entertaining, we added a 950 SF in-law-suite with separate living space and artist's workshop/garage. The initial design was planned as a separate building between the garden and the grass swale. A revised design turned the addition along the street and connected it to the house. Large windows and glass doors capture the shared garden, and smaller windows on the streetside allow for cross-ventilation. Vaulted ceilings and open design. Style, colors, and materials match the existing house.

Riviera Park New Home

May 2018

These Clients were looking to build a home on an un-developed property overlooking a mangrove habitat. The house and garage are raised above the flood plain with a parking courtyard at the same level as the entry. The house faces North to take advantage of the views and cross-breezes, while keeping their privacy from the neighbors. A modest size living area with large kitchen, large covered porch, Master Suite, and room for lots of books, takes up the main level. Upstairs are 2 guest rooms that share a bathroom.

Lakefront Green Home Remodel

Jan 2012

This modest 2 bedroom 2 bath 1,700 s.f. (conditioned) home was remodeled with energy efficiency foremost in mind - extra insulation, efficient windows and doors, and Energy Star appliances, roof, and lighting. A new front porch, emphasis on lake views, one level living (universal or accessible design), and durable low-maintenance products were also part of the remodel. There are no hallways in this home unless you count the stairway. This home is a Certified GOLD Florida Green Home (Florida Green Building Coalition, Inc), and an EnergyStar Certified Home (EnergyStar, US Dept of Energy). This also won the Silver Award for Energy Efficient Home Retrofit from "Qualified Remodeler" Magazine's Master Design Awards for 2012. Built by Adolf Construction, Inc., Ocala, FL.

Salt Lake Remodel

Jul 2018

The Clients wanted their 20-year old waterfront home to have an exterior facelift as well as some interior upgrades and a fresh look. The design includes remodeling the Master Bathroom, including a luxurious walk-in shower with bench and natural lighting. The Entry Foyer was updated with new doors, flooring, and the staircase was painted gray. The Great Room was opened up to the Lanai and Pool with large sliding glass doors. New flooring, paint, and the kitchen cabinetry was replaced. The Upstairs Bathrooms have a new layout. There is a larger window with lower sill in the Family Room to capture the lake view from the writing desk. A future exterior facelift includes new windows and a mix of materials on the facades.
