Nortex Testing LLC

Terrible service, ended up costing my family $680 in UNNECESSARY work, because he is incompetent. Doug came for our testing, and seemed very knowledgeable and polite. He was here for an hour and a half and ran the test 3-4 times to "verify". He did the tests and told us we had a fast leak that required IMMEDIATE attention. We called a leak detection company (the one he recommended) and they tested trying to find the leak for 5 hours (at a rate of $110 per hour plus fees, it got expensive very quickly). They came back and said that there was no leak at all. Our plumbing was perfect, no leaks, cracks, or even blockages. They said air in the line had likely given Doug a false leak test. I asked if air in the lines indicated another problem with the plumbing, and they responded, "No, it's completely normal, in fact if Doug had simply taken the caps off the clean outs outside the house, we never would have been called". Just too clarify, I asked if our clean out caps were defective and they again said "no". Naturally, we called Doug after, leaving a voicemail. Prior to the issue Doug was consistent and prompt with call backs, and when he was leavings our house, he told us he'd be "offended" if we didn't call him should we run into issues or questions in this process, so he could offer his "expertise". Needless to say, after several days and voicemails, he wouldn't answer or return our calls. We decided to call AllPro, our foundation repair company that has a working relationship with Doug, to complain about the issue. Miraculously, Doug called back within the hour of us making that call calming he'd been sick, and was just now returning calls, and basically offered nothing. He claimed we paid for 1 1/2 hours of his time and he was there for that long, the results of the test were irrelevant. Ummm, excuse me? He demands $130+ per hour (total fee was $260, AllPro paid $100 and we paid $160) as an EXPERT in leak detection, and the results are irrelevant?! He claimed the handouts he gave us AFTER service claiming existing plumbing problems can effect testing results. He NEVER mentioned this out loud, he detailed how to deal with filing an insurance claim, telling the plumbers what to do when proving the leak was fixed, but NEVER that this test isnt a 100% reliable. As detailed above, I know for a fact, that my plumbing is "completely normal and functional", so this wasn't the problem, Doug was the problem. He said he tested "3-4 times" during that 1 1/2 hours, maybe he should have tried walking outside during that ample time and unscrew my clean out caps instead of running the same inconsistent test repeatedly. He's quite convinced that he's in the right in this situation, and that there's nothing he could/should do differently, now or in the future. He's not willing to refund his fee, let alone the additional $680 his lying tests cost us, and he doesn't even care to learn from our experience to prevent this hardship from happening to another family. DO NOT trust Nortex or Doug.
