Riverbend Ranch

Sep 2017

Overall Winner of the 2017 Durango Parade of Homes, this stunning 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath Mountain Traditional home in Painter Ranch mirrors the adjacent Animas River, wrapping from west to east to maximize views of the water. The grand entry has sightlines straight to the landscape beyond through expansive windows in the great room, pulling the outside in. A floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and timber trusses are focal points in the stately living space. The inviting kitchen flows to a walkout wood deck that embraces indoor-outdoor living with a stone fireplace and spectacular river views, perfect for entertaining. Through a windowed corridor lies a private retreat replete with a cozy stone fireplace and a peaceful, spa-like bathroom with views of the Animas. Other notable features include a wine pantry, an additional master suite, downstairs guest quarters with ensuite bathrooms and a walkout terrace. Seamlessly integrated into the surrounding terrain, this Kogan Builders home is the epitome of luxurious mountain living.

Animas Overlook

May 2017

This recently completed Kogan Builders residential design-build project in Durango is one of our finest to date. Aptly named Animas Overlook, this contemporary mountain home sits high above the Animas Valley and features an open floor plan with floor-to-ceiling windows along the rear of the home to maximize the mountain views. The addition of multi-sliding glass pocket doors really bring the outside in and give the home a wide open feel. Exposed structural steel I-beams in the huge great room really add a unique industrial/modern architectural style to the interior of the home. Interior features include a unique entry foyer with a custom front door, and stacked Telluride stone and cedar that flows from the exterior to the inside. An elegant chef's kitchen with gorgeous pendant lights, walk-in pantry, stone counters and a Carerra marble backsplash from counter-to-ceiling really makes a statement. The powder room includes a unique floating sink and modern tiled mirror with a pop of color. The focal point in the great room is certainly the asymmetrical stone fireplace. Reaching all the way to the 20' vaulted cedar ceiling and surrounded by large windows, the room really inspires awe when first entering the home. Other notable features include: a beautiful custom front landscape, large front sitting area/patio, long deck spanning the entire rear of the home overlooking the valley below, a built-in stone BBQ, custom barn-doors in the entry hallway, a hearth room, and a mud room off the 3-car garage with a dog wash and plenty of storage space. This 4,600 sq. ft. home truly epitomizes the upscale, modern Colorado lifestyle for this active family. More Projects by Kogan Builders, Inc.

Maggie Rock Cabin

Jun 2008

This cabin located at Maggie Rock Ranch was built as a community space for the owners in the subdivision. We packed many great details into the 900 square feet including a rustic wood burning stove, a floor to ceiling stone wall in the powder room, and an interior wall made from reclaimed barnwood. This is the perfect small space for cozy get togethers or to be used as a retreat away from home.

Mining Retreat

Jun 2006

This 2007 Parade of Homes winner is an example of the Kogan Builders design-build process at work. Kogan Builders merged the clients square footage requirements and rustic design preferences with the constraints of a small building site to create this architecturally unique home. In order to stay true to historic mining style architecture, and to maximize views and square footage, one third of this home is cantilevered off a steep cliff, showcasing panoramic Needle Mountain views. Sharing these amazing views is the award-winning master suite that exemplifies the home's inviting atmosphere and luxury.
