Short version? Mario at Hermoza handed our contract to someone else without asking. Painting the inside of our house took over 2.5 weeks, and several areas of our house still aren't finished about a month after Mario threatened to pull our discount if we didn't pay in full. No effort has been made to come and finish. I would never recommend Hermoza. We recently moved to Indy and got a fixer-upper. My brother-in-law Evan recommended Hermoza after they painted his house. Evan described a small army coming in, prepping, painting, and touching up his whole house in a few days - pretty much what we had in the past with another crew in Texas, and exactly what we needed to get our house ready to move in on schedule. We walked through the house with Mario and Hugo, different paint colors, etc. sent paint codes for different rooms - all good, right? We started to realize something was off when the only people working on the house were Hugo and his helper. The helper would do all kinds of weird things like dip a brush and walk across the house and actually use the brush, but the biggest issue we noticed was that everything was white. We had selected a white color code for the trim and ceilings, but this was EVERYTHING - doors, walls, all of it. The only paint they had were gallons and gallons of white. Talking to Hugo, he somehow got the impression from our walkthrough that it was all white (???) We text Mario, get it straightened out.. great. A few days later we notice ANOTHER wrong color. this time doors and bedrooms. This time Hugo at least had the colors printed out so we could point and show his mistake.. but time is just burning away. On top of this, we started asking ourselves "why doesn't Hugo's van have a Hermoza logo?", "why is Mario never here?" and then we realize that Mario just handed our contract over to Hugo without consulting us. Great. Fast forward to the week of Thanksgiving, over two weeks into our house being painted, a week of extending the UHaul with all of our belongings, and we're nowhere close to being done. I email Mario my concerns on a Monday (so there's plenty of time to do whatever is needed) that we really can't extend the UHaul further - and he promises he'll get more guys on and they'll be done Friday. No more painters come UNTIL FRIDAY. Of course now we've got trim painted some places not others, runs, colors bleeding through, just a general sloppy rush job. The best part? They still weren't done. My brother in law sat there with our equipment rental burning money all of Saturday because they couldn't finish when promised. I've been working on the house and I STILL FIND BLUE PAINT SPRAY because Hugo couldn't be bothered to mask off areas he was spraying. There are multiple areas that were supposed to be fixed and haven't, and at this point I don't want any more sloppy painters in the house. This whole experience has left me short *thousands* and wishing I had just painted the house myself.
