AREAWIDE LOCK & KEY

The locksmith came out to open a sliding door on a condo in Seascape. This was on a Monday at 4:00 pm. He was here a grand total of 15 minutes. He charged $60 for a service call and $40 for labor. His office is 5 minutes away from the condo. My jaw hit the floor......$60 for a service call.........Really? I've been a Facilities Manager in the automotive industry for close to 40 years. I wouldn't think of doing business with a company that charges these rates. I realize Hilton Head is expensive but this company is outrageously over priced for a service call during regular business hours during the week. I can see paying that for a evening or weekend call but not during the week. I pay less than that for emergency calls during the weekend. Don't call this company unless you want to break out a jar of Vaseline.
